The Placement Of A Single-Incision Mini-Sling For The Treatment Of Complete Intrinsic Sphincter Deficiency In An Adolescent Female: A Case Report, Norman Bebla, Dylan Gallegos
HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine
Introduction
Intrinsic sphincter deficiency (ISD) is associated with a patient history of urethral injury or childbirth. Suburethral sling placement for ISD has been found to be beneficial in patients with this diagnosis. ISD in the pediatric population is rare and surgical management may prove difficult. ISD requires intensive counseling on available treatment options for this unique population.
Case Presentation
This report is on the use of the single-incision mini-sling for complete ISD in an adolescent patient. The patient was a 15-year-old nulligravid female who was found to have idiopathic complete intrinsic deficiency based on a multi-channel urodynamic study. Despite conservative …

The method used was qualitative, with case studies, in-depth interviews, and observations for data collection. The informants comprised four adolescents aged 19-21 years, two mothers, and two therapists for special needs children. This study was conducted at two growth and development …

Muslims do Ramadan fasting for around 12 hours (between dawn and sunset). Apart from changing meal times, Ramadan fasting also has the potential to change sleep duration due to sahoor (before the dawn) activities that must be done. The ideal amount and frequency of vegetables and fruit consumption in the national guideline were illustrated by the three main meals a day. The different conditions occurred when doing Ramadan fasting, which was predicted to have less vegetable and fruit consumption than the normal days, especially Muslim adolescents. This research analyzed the difference between the consumption of vegetables and fruit, sleep duration, …

Factors Influencing Sexuality, Gender And Norms Of Adolescent: A Cross-Sectional Study Among Adolescent In Indonesia, Tantut Susanto, Tirta Amerta Isworo, Dewi Rokhmah
Journal of Health Research
Background: The current study explored the factors related to the sexuality, gender, and norms among Indonesian adolescents via structural equation modelling.
Method: A cross-sectional design was performed among 394 adolescents from August to October 2020 in East Java of Indonesia. A self-administered questionnaire measured factors that influenced sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescents. We used smart PLS (Partial Least Squares) to analyze the data.
Results: Two correlations emerge among independent variables, namely sociodemographic of adolescent and knowledge of reproductive health (RH) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) (p< 0.001) and sociodemographic of parents and family structure and function of RH (p< 0.001). Sociodemographic of parents (p= 0.003), knowledge of RH and HIV (p= 0.012), and family structure and function of RH (p= 0.006) were directly related to sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescent. Sociodemographic of adolescents (p= 0.031) and parents (p= 0.024) were indirectly related to the sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescent through knowledge of RH and HIV. Our model explains 39.9% of the variance in sexuality, gender, and norms of adolescents.
Conclusion: Factors that influence sexuality, gender, and norms of the adolescent …

Cutaneous Horn On The Right Supraclavicular Region In An Adolescent Female, A Rare Case Report, Rohit Gupta, Manoj Kumar, Ruchi Sinha, Reva Shankar Sahu
The New Ropanasuri Journal of Surgery
Cutaneous horn (CH) is an outgrowth from the skin surface, composed of keratin, and associated with benign to malignant skin lesions. We report a case of CH in a 15-year-old female associated with Keratoacanthoma. It is uncommon in young people and is associated with a good prognosis because of its benign nature. This case needs to be reported as it highlights the rare occurrence of this condition in the younger age group and its good prognosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice, with histopathologic diagnosis playing a critical role in determining the nature and further treatment of this condition …
