National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month

One in 5 children in the United States have obesity. Childhood obesity puts kids at risk for health problems that were once seen only in adults, like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

SWOSU Rural Health Center will be offering the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) again for those with prediabetes or at high risk for type 2 diabetes starting in September. The program has proven to cut the risk for type 2 diabetes in half.
