This study aimed to investigate the influence of water availability and nitrogen fertilization on plant growth, nutrient dynamics, and variables related to soybean crop yield. Trials were performed in Teresina, Piauí, Brazil, using randomized blocks in a split-split plot arrangement. The plots corresponded to water regimes (full and deficient), the split plots to N fertilization (0 and 1000 kg ha-1 N-urea), and the split-split plots to harvest times of soybean plants (16, 23, 30, 37, 44, 58, 65, 79 and 86 days after emergence), with three replicates. In general, the accumulation and partitioning of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium …

Effects Of Fertilization And Drying Conditions On The Quality Of Selected Chinese Medicinal Plants, Zoe Gardner Oct 2019

Effects Of Fertilization And Drying Conditions On The Quality Of Selected Chinese Medicinal Plants, Zoe Gardner

Doctoral Dissertations

Demand for Chinese medicinal herbs in the U.S. is increasing and American acupuncturists and farmers are interested in domestic production of these plants. Little is known about the feasibility of production of these species outside of China. Four species of herbs were selected for cultivation trials. The purposes of this research were to evaluate the feasibility of cultivation of these species in the northeastern United States, to develop basic agronomic data for each species, and to determine the effects of nitrogen fertilizer on plant growth, yield, and secondary metabolites. Agastache rugosa, Schizonepeta tenuifolia, Leonurus japonicus, and Leonurus …

Effect Of Rhizobacteria Treatments On Nutrient Content And Organic And Amino Acid Composition In Raspberry Plants, Muzaffer İpek Jan 2019

Effect Of Rhizobacteria Treatments On Nutrient Content And Organic And Amino Acid Composition In Raspberry Plants, Muzaffer İpek

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) have been found to be beneficial to plant growth, yield, crop quality, the environment, and sustainable agricultural production. Therefore, six bacterial strains were tested to determine their effects on raspberry's nutrient content and organic and amino acid composition. The experiment was performed from 2015 to 2017. Two-year-old raspberry plants were inoculated with bacterial suspensions by a dipping method and were planted in 30-L pots. The mineral content and organic acid and amino acid composition of the leaf and root were compared in the Alcaligenes 637Ca, Staphylococcus MFDCa1 and MFDCa2, Agrobacterium A18, Pantoea FF1, and Bacillus M3 …

The Chickpea Book : A Technical Guide To Chickpea Production, Stephen Loss, Neil Brandon, K H M. Siddique Sep 1998

The Chickpea Book : A Technical Guide To Chickpea Production, Stephen Loss, Neil Brandon, K H M. Siddique

Bulletins 4000 -

The area of chickpea production in Australia has expanded rapidly in recent years especially in south-western Australia. This has been partly brought about by the keen interest of farmers and a concerted research effort and industry development by Agriculture Western Australia, The Centre for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture (CLIMA) and other institutions, in partnership with the Grains Research and Development Corporation and other industry funding bodies. Private consultants, grain traders and other industry groups have also contributed to the expansion of the industry.

Much of the local knowledge generated by these research and development projects has been published in various …
