Isosteric Sorption Heat Determination For Some Starchy Grains, Serdar Özteki̇n, Yurtsever Soysal

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

InIn this study, isosteric sorption heat for 8 different starchy grains was determined by the application of the Clausius- Clapeyron equation to sorption isotherms. The latent heat of vaporisation of free water was not significantly different from the isosteric sorption heats of barley, durum wheat, oats, sorghum (31) and sorghum above 14% d.b. moisture content. There was no significant difference among the latent heat of vaporisation of free water and isosteric sorption heats of soft wheat, hard wheat and wheat (Waldron) above the 17% moisture content. Isosteric sorption heat of soft wheat was calculated to be 3341.5 kJ kg -1 …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The study was carried out to determine the efficiency of forward-sloped bench terraces on soil conservation in the Aydın- Bozdoğan-Alamut terracing area. For this purpose, the shape specifications, and physical and chemical properties of the soil that belong to the sample terraces in the project area were determined and the factors of K and LS that are needed for calculating soil losses were are found through the Universal Soil Losses Equation. According to the evaluation, especially the determined factors of K and LS were higher for the sample terraces interfered with by farmers and this result shows that the probable …

Using The Parcel Transposition Ratio (Pyo) In The Evaluation Of Land Consolidation Projects, Yaşar Ayranci Jan 2000

Using The Parcel Transposition Ratio (Pyo) In The Evaluation Of Land Consolidation Projects, Yaşar Ayranci

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

In this study, land consolidation projects were evaluated by a different way than usual. According to the results of two different models applied to the Tokat-Erbaa-Yukarı Çandır Village land consolidation area, first of all the previous owners of parcels were identified. Then using these values, in Model A 22.18% of the total area and in Model B 18.31% of the total area were given to the previous owners. For both models, statistical calculations were made between the previous parcel(s) in a block and the parcel(s) given in the same block for all holdings. The relationships were found to be significant …

Oxygen Delignification Of Wheat Straw Organosolv Pulp, Hüseyi̇n Kirici, Mustafa Usta, Mehmet Akgül

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

In this study, in order to determine optimum conditions for peroxide reinforced oxygen delignification of wheat straw organosolv pulps, five experiments were carried out changing the alkali ratio, peroxide charge and reaction time. After the statistical evaluations of the data obtained, optimum delignification conditions were found to be as follows: NaOH ratio 6%, H_2O_2 ratio 2.5%, reaction temperature 80 ^oC, reaction time 60 min., oxygen pressure 10 kg/cm^2 , concentration 16%. Thus; yield, viscosity and tear index of wheat straw organosolv pulps delignificated with oxygen added peroxide decreased by 18%, 20% and 18% respectively. In addition, residual lignin content of …
