Liverworts (Marchantiopsida) Of The Dilek Peninsula National Park, Hati̇ce Özenoğlu Ki̇remi̇t, İsa Gökler

In this study, the distribution of liverworts in the Dilek Peninsula National Park was investigated. The study area is near Kuşadası in Aydın and within the C11 square of Turkey. Twenty-six species were determined from this plant group belonging to the class Marchantiopsida (Hepaticae) of the division Bryophyta. These species are collected into 18 families. Of these, Pellia neesiana (Gott.) Limpr., Gymnocolea acutiloba (Schiffn.) K.Müll., Jungermannia hyalina Lyell, Calypogeia sphagnicola (H.Arn. & J.Perss.) Warnst. & Loeske, Radula lindenbergiana Gott & Hartm. and Lejeunea lamacerina (Steph.) Schiffn. are reported for the first time from the C11 square of Turkey.

Flora Of Kazankaya Canyon (Yozgat-Çorum), Ahmet Duran, Ergi̇n Hamzaoğlu

A floristic study of Kazankaya Canyon was carried out. Sixty families, 216 genera and 308 taxa were identified. A species new to science was found from the genus Scorzonera L. (Compositae). Fifty-two taxa (16.9%) are Irano-Turanian, 41 (13.3%) Mediterranean and 11 (3.6%) Euro-Siberian phytogeographic region elements. The remaining 195 (63.3%) taxa are multi-regional and 9 (2.9%) are not from a determined phytogeographic region. The life forms were determined according to Raunkiaer. The number of endemic taxa is 24 (7.8%). Four taxa show variations not previously reported in the literature. Thirty-four taxa are new floristic records for the square A5.

Checklist Of Major Plant Species In Ashley County, Arkansas Noted By General Land Office Surveyors, Don C. Bragg

The original General Land Office (GLO) survey notes for the Ashley County, Arkansas, area were examined to determine the plant taxa mentioned during the 1818 to 1855 surveys. While some challenges in identifying species were encountered, at least 39 families and approximately 100 species were identified with reasonable certainty. Most references were for trees used to witness corners or lines. Prominent arboreal genera recorded in these early survey records included Quercus, Pinus, Carya, Liquidambar, Nyssa, Ulmus, Acer, Fraxinus, and Taxodium. High-value specialty chemicals are usually obtained from natural products by extracting with generally regarded as safe (GRAS) solvents. Because organic solvents are quite often used, high operating and disposal costs occur. When compared to traditional solvents, water is an interesting alternative because of its low operating and disposal costs. Milk thistle contains compounds (taxifolin, silychristin, silydianin, silybinin A, and silybinin B) that display hepatoxic protection properties. This paper examines the batch extraction of silymarin compounds from milk thistle seed meal in 50°C, 70°C, 85°C and 100°C water as a function of time. In this study carried out in Ankara-Kızılcahamam Çamlıdere and Çamkoru districts, 82 taxa were identified by the authors. These belong to 20 families and 42 genera of bryophytes. of these, 10 taxa are new for the A2 grid-square adopted by Henderson.

The Classification Of The Salvia L. (Labiatae) Species Distributed In West Anatolia According To Phenolic Compounds, Mahmure Naki̇poğlu

The seven species of Salvia L. growing naturally in West Anatolia (Salvia tomentosa Mill., Salvia fruticosa Mill., Salvia smyrnaea Boiss., Salvia argentea L., Salvia horminum L., Salvia verbenaca L., and Salvia virgata Jacq.) and a cultivated form (Salvia officinalis L.) were selected as the study materials. The phenolic compounds extracted from the leaves of the species were separated by two- dimensional thin-layer chromatography. On the basis of the distribution of phenolic spots in the species, the matching coefficients and the coefficient of similarity were calculated in order to determine the relationship between the species.
