Indonesia’s government makes some efforts to be FATF’s member in order to be more accepted in international business. Therefore, Indonesia should comply to The FATF Recommendations, international standards on combating money laundering, and the financing of terrorism and proliferation. One of the government’s focus is on Recommendation 24 and 25 about Transparency and Beneficial Ownership of Legal Persons and Legal Arrangements. There are many hurdles that adult adoptees face when seeking access to personal information contained in original birth records or adoption proceedings. One such hurdle is the widely-used good cause standard, which requires adoptees seeking information to show good cause to obtain access. This standard is problematic primarily for its vagueness. Very few jurisdictions that use this standard define “good cause” in any meaningful way, and case law interpreting good cause statutory language is inconsistent at best. ‘Collaboration and Coercion’ addresses the systemic and individual concerns that arise when family members that have experienced abuse enter into the collaborative law process. A form of alternative dispute resolution, collaborative law is a method of resolving disputes without engagement of the legal system. The author addresses the structural and cultural difficulties that survivors of abuse encounter throughout the process as well as the ethical concerns that are raised when collaborative practitioners accept cases where the parties have a history of coercion within the intimate relationship.
