America's General Aviation sector has witnessed significant demographic shifts since the turn of the century. The number of certified, private pilots, non-fatal aircraft accidents, fatal aircraft accidents, and number of general aviation hours flown are all in decline. Meanwhile, the average age of an American private pilot has increased by several years. All of these factors indicate that the industry is in decline. This study determined via mathematical, linear regression that times relationship to the number of annual, fatal General Aviation accidents and the number of certified private pilots is negative. Measuring Risks Of Interdependencies In Enterprise Systems: An Application To Ghana’S Salt Enterprise, Yaw Mensah

This dissertation describes the use of Functional Dependency Network Analysis (FDNA) for modeling risks resulting from dependencies among elements of enterprise systems with application to salt processing enterprise in Ghana. FDNA was developed to model dependencies among members of enterprise systems by highlighting two dimensions of dependency: strength and criticality. Nonetheless, the concepts and analytics for these two dimensions of dependencies needed further development and generalization in the context of project management and systems development in developing countries.

Analysis And Optimization For Combat Capability Based On Sequential Simulation Experiment, Chenyan Kong, Zhu Jing, Jiao Song, Shaojie Mao

Abstract: To deal with the optimization of combat capability, the sequential simulation experiment method was proposed. The simulation evaluation method with precision constraint was used to control the simulation running times. The sensitivity analysis experiment was carried out to identify the important factors affecting the combat capability. The relation model between the important factors and combat capability was constructed via regression analysis experiment. To get the combat capability improvement as large as possible with the price as small as possible, the optimization was used. In the application example, the air-defense combat capability was improved by the method.

This research provides insight into the cargo unloading and loading process and times at three airfields in Afghanistan. Using a linear regression model and its prediction capability, a more stabilized environment is produced. This uses the times from seven historical months of continuous operations in Afghanistan and uses this information for the prediction expressions. Using this model, no throughput is lowered and early and late times are lowered by an average of seven minutes per mission. Over the course of a month, this increases planning stability by 74.1 hours. This not only impacts the planning at the downrange location, but …

This thesis both evaluates, and presents improvements to, the current method of forecasting flying costs of Air Force aircraft. It uses depot level repairable (DLR) and consumable (CONS) data for the Air Force's bomber platforms: B-1B, B-2, and B-52H. The current forecasting method assumes a proportional relationship between costs and flying hours such that 1) when no hours are flown costs are zero, and 2) a 1% increase in flying hours will increase costs by 1%. This thesis extends the research found in Storm, Bauer, and Oxley, 2003. Data correlation effects and sample size effects on three classifier fusion techniques and one data fusion technique were investigated. Identification System Operating Characteristic Fusion (Haspert, 2000), the Receiver Operating Characteristic Within Fusion method (Oxley and Bauer, 2002), and a Probabilistic Neural Network were the three classifier fusion techniques; a Generalized Regression Neural Network was the data fusion technique. BRAWLER is a high resolution air to air combat simulation model used for engagement level analyses of few on few air combat. It uses a value driven decision logic to help simulate pilot behavior. In order to account for varied pilot skill levels, BRAWLER has defined three skill levels; Rookie, Pilot, and Ace.
