Research On Equipment Operation Capabilities Requirements Based On Exploratory Simulation Experiment Methodology, Zongrui Yan, Yinhua Wu, Chen Yong, Jianshu Dong

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Analysis on equipment operation requirements is a very difficult problem which has included a lot of uncertain factors, and it can assist peoples to determine whether the equipment item should be started. Exploratory simulation experiment methodology which is synthetized by exploratory analysis and war fighting experimentation can provide a better service for many problems about the equipment demonstration. Through the summary on basic applications exploratory simulation experiments related out comes and its analysis for concrete implementation steps equipment demonstration areas, a tactical level exploratory simulation methodology and its concrete implementation steps were proposed for the operational requirements analysis. An …

Research On Cost-Effectiveness Analysis And Modeling Of Equipment, Yueqiang Zhao, An Shi, Mai Qiang, Yinyin Lin Dec 2019

Research On Cost-Effectiveness Analysis And Modeling Of Equipment, Yueqiang Zhao, An Shi, Mai Qiang, Yinyin Lin

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: There are many methods to study the cost effectiveness analysis of equipment. It is very important to choose the right method and method combination . On this basis of analyzing and sorting out the research status at home and abroad, the collation and comparative study of cost estimation methods and modeling methods are carried out.The methods and classifications of effectiveness evaluation and calculating and aggregating efficiency indicators are sorted out. The methods suitable for cost-effectiveness analysis and decision-making are summarized. The characteristics of these methods in the analysis of equipment system and their applicability to engineering application are pointed …

Assessment Of Ergonomics In Indian Dental Practice: A Workplace Analysis, Divya Gadde Apr 2018

Assessment Of Ergonomics In Indian Dental Practice: A Workplace Analysis, Divya Gadde

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

Dental practice requires unique working conditions such as prolonged working hours, strained body postures and laborious, high finesse dental techniques. However, it can be more efficiently performed by the application of ergonomics, rather than physically forcing the worker's body to fit the job. Posture is highly influenced by factors such as inadequate working level, incorrect patient positioning, and poor visual comfort. In order to eliminate musculoskeletal disorders it is necessary to control these and other factors, and design the human work environment to be more ergonomic. The aim of this study was to assess ergonomics within Indian dental practice and …

Liquid Force Kite Control System Design, Brendan Kerr, Brodie Sutherland, Alden Simmer Mar 2017

Liquid Force Kite Control System Design, Brendan Kerr, Brodie Sutherland, Alden Simmer

Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering

Kiteboarding is an ocean sport wherein the participant, also known as a kiter, uses a large inflatable bow shaped kite to plane across the ocean on a surfboard or wakeboard. The rider is connected to his or her kite via a control bar system. This control system allows the kiter to steer the kite and add or remove power from the kite, in order to change direction and increase or decrease speed. This senior project focused on creating a new control bar system to replace a control bar system manufactured by a kiteboarding company, Liquid Force. The current Liquid Force …

Experiments To Measure The Effects Of Timber Harvesting Equipment On Surface Lithic Scatters, Douglas J. Baughman Jan 2013

Experiments To Measure The Effects Of Timber Harvesting Equipment On Surface Lithic Scatters, Douglas J. Baughman

All Master's Theses

The importance of cultural resource preservation cannot be overstated; however local economies are at least as important. Due to conservative archaeological site protection practices in Region 5 of the United States Forest Service, the economy of Northeastern California is being adversely affected. In an attempt to help the Forest Service make more informed management decisions and improve the Northeastern California economy, I undertook experiments on the effects of timber harvesting on lithic scatters on Modoc National Forest. The experiments involved placement of 225 glass tiles (proxy lithics) in each of three plots subject to vehicle traffic and log dragging by …

Optimization Of Lifeguard Towers, Equipment, And Sign Placement With Human Factors Considerations For The Cal Poly Recreation Center Expansion, Brian J. Henrikson Jan 2009

Optimization Of Lifeguard Towers, Equipment, And Sign Placement With Human Factors Considerations For The Cal Poly Recreation Center Expansion, Brian J. Henrikson

Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering

Cal Poly’s Recreation Center serves many faculty, students and alumni by providing them with a safe and fun environment to work out and swim. An overwhelming majority of students voted for a Recreation Center expansion to handle the increased usage of the Center over the past few years. The focus of this report is the safe and effective operations of the pool deck and the lifeguard staff. Three surveys were created to see what the lifeguard staff, as well as pool users, thought about the current pool deck and what they would like to see in the new pool deck …
