Rendezvous And Docking Digital Simulation System Based On Matlab, An Hao, Zhenshen Qu, Changhong Wang

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: On the background of lunar orbit rendezvous and docking (RVD), a framework of the simulation system was designed. The dynamics, navigation and controller of the RVD system were built in detail, and a Simulink model of the lunar orbit RVD was established based on these results. A user interface and a 3D dynamic demonstration were designed to make the operation convenient and intuitive. The digital simulation system can be used to verify the lunar orbit RVD missions incipiently. Furthermore,a semi-physical RVD simulation was taken by using the modified model. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the inertia-visual integrated navigation …

In this paper, we illustrate how massive agent-based simulation can be used to investigate an exciting new application domain of experience management in theme parks, which covers topics like congestion control, incentive design, and revenue management. Since all visitors are heterogeneous and self-interested, we argue that a high-quality agent-based simulation is necessary for studying various problems related to experience management. As in most agent-base simulations, a sound understanding of micro-level behaviors is essential to construct high-quality models. To achieve this, we designed and conducted a first-of-its-kind real-world experiment that helps us understand how typical visitors behave in a theme-park environment. …

A New Methodology To Evaluate The Real Options Of An Investment Using Binomial Trees And Monte Carlo Simulations, Michele Amico, Zbigniew Pasek, Farshid Asl

Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Publications

This paper deals with a new methodology to evaluate the real operating options embedded in a manufacturing system investment. In a single product framework, the demand is assumed as the main source of uncertainty, therefore as a stochastic variable following a geometric brownian motion (GBM). Then, focusing on the real option to expand the capacity at a certain time in the future, we have developed a new approach for the option payoff, looking forward in the time interval from the expansion date to the end of the planning horizon. The payoff function is the expected net present value (NPV), at …
