The writer ahs been on the faculty of the State Normal and Industrial College at Ellendale, North Dakota since 1957. During this time he became concerned about the status of industrial arts in the public schools of North Dakota. Since instruction in industrial arts depends to a large extent on the facilities and equipment available for use by the individual teacher and the nature of the ship program, it would seem desirable for those colleges preparing industrial arts teachers to know the status of this subject area in the public schools of their state.
