Supplier Ranking System And Its Effect On The Reliability Of The Supply Chain, Farshad Rabib Dec 2020

Supplier Ranking System And Its Effect On The Reliability Of The Supply Chain, Farshad Rabib

Doctoral Dissertations

Today, due to the growing use of social media and an increase in the number of

A HITS with a solution in PageRank (Massimo, 2011) sharing their opinions globally, customers can review products and services in many novel ways. However, since most reviewers lack in-depth technical knowledge, the true picture concerning product quality remains unclear. Furthermore, although product defects may come from the supplier side, making it responsible for repair cost, it is ultimately the manufacturer whose name is damaged when such defects are revealed. In this context, we need to revisit the cost vs. quality equations. Observations of customer …

Supply Chain Network Analysis For Outboard Motors At Motor Boaters Usa, Seyedalireza (Ali) Ghiasi, Chase Griffith, Djanene Manuel, Yesenia Pérez, Alvand Rafiee Apr 2019

Supply Chain Network Analysis For Outboard Motors At Motor Boaters Usa, Seyedalireza (Ali) Ghiasi, Chase Griffith, Djanene Manuel, Yesenia Pérez, Alvand Rafiee

Senior Design Project For Engineers

Motor Boaters USA found themselves possibly spending too much on their current network distribution of small and large outboard motors and requested new distribution alternatives for the U.S. Through past network distribution data analysis, the team devised 3 scenarios it believed would provide one or more cost effective distribution networks applicable to the request. Through what-if analysis, the teams' calculations produced solid results, which were then presented to Motor Boaters USA for reflection and possible implementation.

A Representation Of Tactical And Strategic Precursors Of Supply Network Resilience Using Simulation Based Experiments, Yaneth C. Correa-Martinez Jul 2018

A Representation Of Tactical And Strategic Precursors Of Supply Network Resilience Using Simulation Based Experiments, Yaneth C. Correa-Martinez

Engineering Management & Systems Engineering Theses & Dissertations

Modern supply chains are becoming increasingly complex and are exposed to higher levels of risk. Globalization, market uncertainty, mass customization, technological and innovation forces, among other factors, make supply networks more susceptible to disruptions (both those that are man-made and/or ones associated with natural events) that leave suppliers unavailable, shut-down facilities and entail lost capacity.

Whereas several models for disruption management exist, there is a need for operational representations of concepts such as resilience that expand the practitioners’ understanding of the behavior of their supply chains. These representations must include not only specific characteristics of the firm’s supply network but …

Sauce Repackaging Test: Atlanta, Hannah Smith, Gideon Larios, Christopher Gilbert Apr 2018

Sauce Repackaging Test: Atlanta, Hannah Smith, Gideon Larios, Christopher Gilbert

Senior Design Project For Engineers

Overview

This project belongs to the Chick-fil-A Supply Chain Innovation Team. This team has designed a new packaging product, which breaks down their current packing product into smaller load units. The Atlanta Sauce test was the first live implementation of this new product, the inner pack. The Supply Chain Team began preparing for this test in May 2017. In this test, the team were specifically looking for product issues, benefits, product user behaviors, and areas of improvement.

Objective

The purpose of this project was to research the implementation of a new sauce packaging. During this research, the current sauce replenishment …
