The main objective of this research was to analyse the interaction between the track and bridge under elevated temperatures. This thesis outlines the development of computational modeling tools used to predict the elastic properties of composite lamina from representative volume elements (RVE) using numerical methods. The homogenization approach involves the use of Gauss’s Theorem to simply the average volumetric strain integral into a surface integral containing which is defined by surface displacements and their direction. Simulations of RVEs under specific loading conditions (longitudinal tension or shear and transverse tension or shear) are then performed in the software package ABAQUS to obtain the surface displacements. The containment structures surrounding these nuclear plants, however, can play a huge role in reducing the risks associated with them. The fracture toughness resistance curve such as the J-integral resistance curve (J-R curve) is widely used in the integrity assessment and strain-based design of energy pipelines with respect to planar defects (i.e. cracks). Often, a direct correlation is observed between a country’s transportation network and economic development. Evidence of this is observed all over the world. Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) is a roadway recycling technique that mills and mixes the existing roadway with a stabilizing agent and then re-compacts the mixture to create a thicker, stabilized pavement layer.
