Effect Of Chloride Ions On The Corrosion Behavior Of Reinforcing Steel In Simulated Concrete Pore Solutions, Yu Liu, Rong-Gui Du
Effect Of Chloride Ions On The Corrosion Behavior Of Reinforcing Steel In Simulated Concrete Pore Solutions, Yu Liu, Rong-Gui Du
Journal of Electrochemistry
The potentiodynamic anodic polarization was used to study the corrosion behavior of the reinforcing steel in simulated concrete pore solutions with different pH and chloride ion concentrations. The effect of chloride ions on passivity breakdown of the steel was examined by measuring the breaking potentials of reinforcing steel, and the critical chloride concentrations for depassivation were found in simulated concrete pore solutions at pH 12.50 and pH 12.00.
Corrosion Behavior Of Mg_(2-X)La_Xni And Mg_(2-X)Ce_Xni Hydrogen Storage Alloy, Hai-Chang Zhang, Hua-Bin Yang, Jun-Hong Wang, Zuo-Xiang Zhou
Corrosion Behavior Of Mg_(2-X)La_Xni And Mg_(2-X)Ce_Xni Hydrogen Storage Alloy, Hai-Chang Zhang, Hua-Bin Yang, Jun-Hong Wang, Zuo-Xiang Zhou
Journal of Electrochemistry
The corrosion behavior of Mg-base hydrogen storage alloys has been investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and EIS. The results showed that the corrosion current density (i_(corr) ) and the electrochemical polarized resistance of Mg_(2-x)Ce_xNi alloys decreased with x increase, while i_(corr) of Mg_(2-x)La_xNi alloys increased and the electrochemical polarized resistance of Mg_(2-x)La_xNi alloys increased first, then decreased with x increase. SEM results showed that the surface of Mg_(1.85)Ce_(0.15)Ni alloy was relatively even while the surface of Mg_(2-x)La_xNi alloy had remarkedly cracks. The different behavior between Ce and La may be relevant to the structure of Ce, La oxides.

Studies On The Inhibition Of Yki-05 Corrosion Inhibitor To 907a Steel In Different Immersed Environments, Hui Yu, Jian-Hua Wu, Hong-Ren Wang, Jian-Hua Qian, Guang-Zhang Chen
Journal of Electrochemistry
The inhibition of YKI-05 Corrosion inhibitor in different conditions was studied using potentiodynamic polarization technique. The resuled shown that (i) the inhibitor film layer was formed stably on the surface of 907A steel electrode when it was persistently immersed in static seawater and the inhibition efficiency reached 90% or so. The inhibition mechanism is negative catalytic effect. (ii)the inhibitior film layer was not stable when the electrode was periodically immersed in seawater and was destroyed more significantly with the increase of electrode exposing time. The film was only a covered layer on the surface of electrode and it retarded both …
