Smart Service Function Chain System For Dynamic Traffic Steering Using Reinforcement Learning (Chrl), Ahmed Nadhum, Ahmed Al-Saadi Oct 2023

Smart Service Function Chain System For Dynamic Traffic Steering Using Reinforcement Learning (Chrl), Ahmed Nadhum, Ahmed Al-Saadi

Karbala International Journal of Modern Science

The rapid development of the Internet and network services coupled with the growth of communication infrastructure necessitates the employment of intelligent systems. The complexity of the network is heightened by these systems, as they offer diverse services contingent on traffic type, user needs, and security considerations. In this context, a service function chain offers a toolkit to facilitate the management of intricate network systems. However, various traffic types require dynamic adaptation in the sets of function chains. The problem of optimizing the order of service functions in the chain must be solved using the proposed approach, along with balancing the …

Bibliometric Analysis Of Firefly Algorithm Applications In The Field Of Wireless Sensor Networks, Anupkumar M. Bongale Dr., Rahul Raghvendra Joshi Prof., Kalyani Dhananjay Kadam Prof. Nov 2020

Bibliometric Analysis Of Firefly Algorithm Applications In The Field Of Wireless Sensor Networks, Anupkumar M. Bongale Dr., Rahul Raghvendra Joshi Prof., Kalyani Dhananjay Kadam Prof.

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

Wireless Sensor Network is a network of wireless sensor nodes that are capable of sensing information from their surroundings and transmit the sensed information to data collection point known as a base station. Applications of wireless sensor networks are large in number and forest fire detection, landslide monitoring, etc. are few applications to note. The research challenges in wireless sensor networks is the transmission of data from the sensor node to the base station in an energy-efficient manner and network life prolongation. Cluster-based routing techniques are extensively adopted to address this research challenge. Researchers have used different metaheuristic and soft …

A Diverse Band-Aware Dynamic Spectrum Access Architecture For Connectivity In Rural Communities, Vijay K. Shah Jan 2019

A Diverse Band-Aware Dynamic Spectrum Access Architecture For Connectivity In Rural Communities, Vijay K. Shah

Theses and Dissertations--Computer Science

Ubiquitous connectivity plays an important role in improving the quality of life in terms of economic development, health and well being, social justice and equity, as well as in providing new educational opportunities. However, rural communities which account for 46% of the world's population lacks access to proper connectivity to avail such societal benefits, creating a huge "digital divide" between the urban and rural areas. A primary reason is that the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) providers have less incentives to invest in rural areas due to lack of promising revenue returns. Existing research and industrial attempts in providing connectivity …

Comparing Qos Of Dsdv And Aodv Routing Protocols In Vehicular Network, Aref Hassanpour, Hooman Hoodeh, Amirhossein Zarrinnegar, Arsalan Emami, Rafidah Md Noor Jan 2012

Comparing Qos Of Dsdv And Aodv Routing Protocols In Vehicular Network, Aref Hassanpour, Hooman Hoodeh, Amirhossein Zarrinnegar, Arsalan Emami, Rafidah Md Noor

Hooman Hoodeh

With the advance of Vehicular ad-hoc network, routing protocol has become one of the most important issues in transmitting data among Vehicles. The two routing protocol are DSDV and AODV which DSDV is known as a novel approach in proactive system; however, AODV has good performance in reactive system. In this paper, we compare the efficiency between DSDV & AODV in terms of packet-loss, end-to-end delay and throughput based on given scenarios. The comparison has implemented in various speeds for acquiring result with higher performance. The speeds consist of 5, 20 and 40km/s. then we analyze the explicit results according …

A Bandwidth Aware Modification To The Dsr Routing Protocol For Wireless Mesh Networks, Mustafa Ramadhan, Mark Davis Dec 2009

A Bandwidth Aware Modification To The Dsr Routing Protocol For Wireless Mesh Networks, Mustafa Ramadhan, Mark Davis

Conference papers

This work proposes a bandwidth aware cross-layer modification to the DSR routing protocol. We include the Access Efficiency Factor (AEF) parameter in addition to the hop-count in the routing discovery mechanism. AEF is a measure to the local availability of bandwidth at a node. Employing the AEF as a metric in the routing discovery mechanism attempts to avoid routing through a congested area in the network. In this modification, we impose a limit on the hop-count in order to control the delay time in the network. The path selection procedure operates by finding a path with the highest minimum AEF …
