High-Efficiency Design Of A Grid-Connected Pv Inverter Based On Interleaved Flyback Converter Topology, Bünyami̇n Tamyürek, Bi̇lgehan Kirimer

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

The importance of efficiency in photovoltaic (PV) inverter applications makes the topology selection as the critical first step. Due to the low efficiency concern, flyback converter is not the preferred topology in kilowatt range in spite of its galvanic isolation, low cost, and small size advantages. Therefore, the objective of this research is to change the perception in favor of flyback converter by designing a flyback-topology-based PV inverter at 2.5 kW with high efficiency. The enhancement in efficiency is achieved mainly by using silicon carbide switching devices, designing ultrahigh-efficiency flyback transformers with extremely low leakage inductance and by implementing a …

Effect Of Repetition Coding On The Ber Performance Of Interleave-Division Multiple Access Systems, Mehmet Bi̇li̇m, Nuri̇ Kapucu, İbrahi̇m Develi̇

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

This paper investigates the bit error rate (BER) performance of interleave-division multiple access (IDMA) schemes to show the effect of repetition coding on the system performance. The considered system is tested in the presence of repetition coding by varying system parameters such as number of simultaneous users, data length, spread length, iteration number, and code rate over additive white Gaussian noise channels. In addition, the performance of the considered system is also illustrated in Rayleigh flat fading channels for a more realistic scenario. Our simulation results show that the BER performance of IDMA systems with repetition coding can achieve significant …

Multi-User Uwb-Ir Systems With Interleaved Coding-Modulation On Multipath Fading Channels, Michal M. Pietrzyk, Keni Popovski, Tadeusz Wysocki, Beata J. Wysocki, Jos H. Weber

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering: Faculty Publications (to 2015)

Interleaved coding-modulation (ICM) is a recently proposed method for ultra-wideband impulse radio (UWBIR) systems. ICM exploits the concept of chip interleaving, allowing to alleviate the problem of inter-symbol and inter-pulse interference commonly present in high data rate UWB-IR systems. In this paper, we extend previous work on ICM to scarcely populated multi-user scenarios. We propose a design of a deterministic chip interleaver based on time-hopping hyperbolic congruence sequences. We also review the main parameters of the random and hyperbolic interleavers. Our results indicate that the proposed type of interleaver yields similar performance to random interleavers but with the advantage of …
