Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network(s) (LR-WPAN) usage has increased as more consumers embrace Internet of Things (IoT) devices. ZigBee Physical Layer (PHY) is based on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.15.4 specification designed to provide a low-cost, low-power, and low-complexity solution for Wireless Sensor Network(s) (WSN). With ever-increasing number of vehicles and shortages of parking spaces, parking has always been a very important issue in transportation. It is necessary to use advanced intelligent technologies to help drivers find parking spaces, quickly. In this thesis, an approach to finding empty spaces in parking lots using the CSI-based WiFi technology is presented. First, the channel state information (CSI) of received WiFi signals is analyzed. Transportation infrastructure in intelligent transportation systems (ITSs) is complemented with information and communication technologies to achieve better passenger safety and reduced transportation time, fuel consumption, and vehicle wear and tear. This paper shows how data mining techniques are used in ITSs for accident detection and prevention on motorways. In traffic, vehicles show similar behavior to that of vehicles in closed neighborhoods. Vehicles that show different behaviors than neighbor vehicles in cases like accidents, inappropriate lane changes, and speeding can be considered as anomalies and detected. An integral part of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs), which consist of vehicles with on-board units (OBUs) and fixed road-side units (RSUs). Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment (WAVE) offers QoS via service differentiation by using application defined priorities. However, WAVE has unbounded delay and is oblivious to network load and severity of vehicles with respect to their environment. Our context severity metric innovatively enhances WAVE to be sensitive to vehicle and environment interactions. Vehicle re-identification is the process by which vehicle attributes measured at one point on a road network are compared to vehicle attributes measured at another point in an effort to match vehicles without using any unique identifiers such as license plate numbers. A match is made if the two measurements are estimated to belong to the same vehicle. In Sen and Matolak's earlier paper, 5-GHz-band vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) channel models were presented for channel bandwidths of 5 and 10 MHz. In this paper, we provide additional tapped delay line models for bandwidths of 1, 20, 33.33, and 50 MHz based upon the data used in Sen and Matolak's paper. We provide tables of channel parameters for five types of V2V channel classes and also include example tap correlation coefficients. Root-mean-square delay spread values are summarized, as are values of bandwidth for which the channel frequency correlation takes values of 0.7 and 0.5. As with the results from Sen and …
