This project was conceived as a desired to have an affordable, flexible and physically compact tracking system for high accuracy spatial and orientation tracking. Specifically, this implementation is focused on providing a low cost motion capture system for future research. Probabilistic graphical models like Bayesian Networks (BNs) are powerful artificial-intelligence formalisms, with similarities to cognition and higher order reasoning in the human brain. These models have been, to great success, applied to several challenging real-world applications. One of the greatest challenges with camera systems on High-Altitude Balloons (HAB) is to control the direction that they point. This is because the payload boxes constantly rotate during the flight. While mechanical gambles are normally used, an electronic gambled was designed using multiple cameras and a series of multiplexers. The University of Maine High Altitude Ballooning (UMHAB) team launched two balloons during the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse, producing a consistent online video stream of the eclipse to an altitude of 110,000 feet. This paper discusses the key factors that lead to a successful launch and recovery, such as thorough testing procedures, redesign of components, choice of launch site, and a touch of luck. In preparation for the event, the team tested the equipment and code over eleven balloon launches. Airplane based testing and land testing were conducted for the tracking and video stream components. The students centered the project on the users’ needs for fresh food, nutrition education, and early exposure to STEM for children. In these systems which emulate the behavior of human brains, the processing is carried out simultaneously. Field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA), application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC), and other chip/multi-chip level implementations can be used to implement Dynamic Adaptive Neural Network Arrays (DANNA). In some applications, DANNA interfaces with a traditional computing system to provide neural network configuration information, provide network input, process network outputs, and monitor the state of the network. The present host-to-DANNA network communication setup uses a Cypress USB 3.0 peripheral controller (FX3) to enable host-to-array communication over USB 3.0. Students will be lead through a series of mini-lectures on traffic control and signalization including a discussion on the limitations and benefits of traffic signalization. The lesson plans compliment a computer simulation “game” in which students act as manual operators for a single up to four by four gridded intersection. Students attempt to control the progression of signals to understand the relationship between signal timing and user delay. In this paper, we examine the design and application of a one-time pad encryption system for protecting data stored in the Cloud. Personalising security using a one-time pad generator at the client-end protects data from break-ins, side-channel attacks and backdoors in public encryption algorithms. The one-time pad binary sequences were obtained from modified analogue chaos oscillators initiated by noise and encoded client data locally. Specific ``one-to-Cloud'' storage applications returned control back to the end user but without the key distribution problem normally associated with one-time pad encryption. The problem that the SmartGarden project seeks to solve is the challenge of watering succulents correctly and maintaining consistent plant health. Too much water can cause root rot and drowning while too little water can cause dehydration and starvation.
The SmartGarden solves this common problem by configuring a Raspberry Pi to measure soil moisture, store the data to an AWS server in the cloud, and water the succulent when necessary, informing the user by providing both a web-interface and a variety of notifications.

Its breakthrough comes from the ability to extract complex high level features directly from sensor data. However, deep learning models are still yet to be natively supported on mobile devices due to high computational requirements. This thesis develops the first fully network-on-chip (NoC) based h.264 video decoder implemented in real hardware on a field programmable gate array (FPGA). This thesis starts with an overview of the h.264 video coding standard and an introduction to the NoC communication paradigm. Following this, a series of processing elements (PEs) are developed which implement the component algorithms making up the h.264 video decoder. These PEs, described primarily in VHDL with some Verilog and C, are then mapped to an NoC which is generated using the CONNECT NoC generation tool.
