Dynamic Response Of Pile Foundation Under Pile-Soil-Fault Coupling Effect In Meizoseismal Area, Jing-Bin He, Zhong-Ju Feng, Yun-Xiu Dong, Hai-Bo Hu, Chuang Liu, Sui-Zhu Guo, Cong Zhang, Min Wu, Zhen Wang
Rock and Soil Mechanics
In order to study the dynamic response characteristics of pile foundation under the pile-soil-fault coupling effect, four different types of seismic waves with the peak acceleration of 0.35g are selected for shaking table test. The acceleration response, relative displacement of pile top, bending moment of pile body and damage of pile foundation under different types of seismic waves are studied. The test results show that the parameters of the pile in hanging wall are obviously larger than those in the footwall of the fault, showing the hanging wall effect. The peak acceleration of pile top is greater than that of …
Centrifugal Shaking Table Test On Dynamic Response Characteristics Of Tunnel Entrance Slope In Strong Earthquake Area, Yang Ren, Tian-Bin Li, Lin Lai
Centrifugal Shaking Table Test On Dynamic Response Characteristics Of Tunnel Entrance Slope In Strong Earthquake Area, Yang Ren, Tian-Bin Li, Lin Lai
Rock and Soil Mechanics
The investigation of tunnel damage after strong earthquake shows that the seismic damage of tunnel entrance is quite serious, so it is necessary to further investigate the dynamic response of tunnel entrance slope. Taking the typical tunnel entrance slope in Wenchuan earthquake area as an example, the dynamic response characteristics of tunnel entrance slope under strong earthquake are studied using large centrifugal shaking table test. The experimental results show that: 1) The acceleration amplification on the slope and inside the slope has a significant elevation effect, the acceleration amplification coefficient of the tunnel arch roof is larger than that of …
Seismic Response Of Pile-Soil-Structure In Coral Sand Foundation Under Different Earthquake Intensities, Qi Wu, Xuan-Ming Ding, Zhi-Xiong Chen, Yu-Min Chen, Yu Peng
Seismic Response Of Pile-Soil-Structure In Coral Sand Foundation Under Different Earthquake Intensities, Qi Wu, Xuan-Ming Ding, Zhi-Xiong Chen, Yu-Min Chen, Yu Peng
Rock and Soil Mechanics
The dynamic field response to earthquake in the coral sand is affected by its special engineering properties. In order to reveal the seismic response characteristics of the pile-soil-superstructure in the coral sand site, the shaking table tests of pile groups with three-storey frame structure in coral sand under different earthquake intensities are carried out. The dynamic responses to soil and structure are analyzed and compared with those in the liquefied quartz sand of Fujian. The results show that the excess pore water pressure ratios in both coral and quartz sands are far less than 1 under 0.1g seismic intensity, demonstrating …

Shaking Table Model Test On Seismic Responses Of Utility Tunnel With Joint, Li Feng, Xuan-Ming Ding, Cheng-Long Wang, Zhi-Xiong Chen
Rock and Soil Mechanics
Deformation joints are universal in underground utility tunnels that belong to the shallow-buried and slender structure. Under seismic loads, the vibration response of the underground structure with a joint will be affected to a great extent. However, the studies on this problem are limited. In this paper, based on the shaking table model test that considers the influence of joints, the seismic response characteristics of the underground utility tunnel under seismic excitation with different waveforms and different peak accelerations were studied. The acceleration, soil pressure, displacement, strain, and bending moment were measured and analysed. The results indicated that the vibration …

Experimental Investigation On The Dynamic Response Of Pile Group Foundation On Liquefiable Ground Subjected To Horizontal And Vertical Earthquake Excitations, Heng-Yuan Zhang, De-Ling Qian, Chao Shen, Qi-Quan Dai
Rock and Soil Mechanics
To investigate the dynamic response of pile group foundation on liquefiable ground subjected to horizontal and vertical (bidirectional) coupling earthquake excitations, a shaking table model test for a dynamic interaction system with liquefiable ground –pile group foundation–frame tube structure was conducted. Different types of earthquake motions were selected as the excitations for the shaking table test, and then the influence of bidirectional coupling earthquake excitations on the dynamic response of liquefiable ground and pile group foundation were analyzed by comparing the test results of soil acceleration, excess pore water pressure and pile group strain subjected to horizontal unidirectional and bidirectional …
