"This study was conducted to determine the technological feasibility of using a tube transport (pipeline) system to supplement and partially eliminate the present inadequate solid waste collecting and transporting techniques employed in most cities throughout the United States. Specific objectives were to develop a practical pipeline system for the transport of refuse by means of a fluid and to determine the uniformity of composition of refuse. The hydrodynamic characteristics of each transport medium, water and Chemical Emulsion., W-4088, were to be determined also.
