Hydrological Model Of The Diyala River Watershed In Iraq Using Soil Water Assessment Tool, Ahmed Sagban Khudier, Ahmed Naseh Ahmed Hamdan

Al-Bahir Journal for Engineering and Pure Sciences

The motivation of the present study is to study and address the limitations imposed on hydrological models and the spatial and temporal distribution of streamflow in the Watershed Diyala River (WDR) from January 1996 to April 2023, which has an area of 25652 km2, which is considered an important source of water for central and southern Iraq, to enable decision-makers to make a future management plan for streamflow. To achieve this motivation, the SWAT model was used and fed by input data such as a Digital elevation model with a 30 m resolution, a soil map, the land use and …

Optimizing Locations And Sizes Of Asphalt Concrete Plants In Karbala, Iraq, Ghayath Ali, Sawsan R Mohammad, Alaa M. Abdulhussein Mar 2023

Optimizing Locations And Sizes Of Asphalt Concrete Plants In Karbala, Iraq, Ghayath Ali, Sawsan R Mohammad, Alaa M. Abdulhussein

Al-Bahir Journal for Engineering and Pure Sciences

This study develops and presents a methodology for determining the optimal geographic distribution and size of asphalt concrete plants in Karbala, Iraq, in order to minimize the cost of asphalt concrete produced. The purpose of this study is to discuss these points. The methodology can identify potential locations for asphalt concrete plants within a study area, considering the plants' operation and capital costs and the costs of transporting raw materials to the plants and asphalt concrete to demand centers. Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) software have been used to program the methodology. This methodology has been applied to Karbala using actual data. …

Forecasting The Demand For Asphalt Concrete In Karbala Governorate, Ghayath Ali, Sawsan R Mohammad, Shakir Al-Busaltan Oct 2022

Forecasting The Demand For Asphalt Concrete In Karbala Governorate, Ghayath Ali, Sawsan R Mohammad, Shakir Al-Busaltan

Al-Bahir Journal for Engineering and Pure Sciences

The challenge of forecasting asphalt concrete demand in the Karbala governorate is the subject of this study. Population and number of vehicles in Karbala are considered among the independent (explanatory) variables taken into consideration. These explanatory variables ' historical data have been gathered and examined. The historical data of each explanatory variable has been linked to the historical demand for asphalt concrete in the governorate using regression techniques in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program version 26.

A model to forecast the governorate's demand for asphalt concrete has been developed based on these factors. The forecasts have …
