Sustainable Infrastructure Development In The Ikn Region (Nusantara Capital): Simulation Of The Smart Self-Sustaining Urban Center Area Development, Naufal Budi Laksono, Yusuf Latief

Smart City

Embarking on the quest for a sustainable urban future, this research immerses itself in the vibrant landscape of "Sustainable Infrastructure Development in the IKN Region (Nusantara Capital)." This study investigates the financial viability and economic attractiveness of the Five City project, focusing on efficient infrastructure management for sustainable settlement development. The core facility comprises four vertical residential towers with supporting amenities. The research aims to evaluate the project''s feasibility over a 25-year investment period through comprehensive financial analyses. The research employs a structured approach, encompassing regulatory analysis, stakeholder identification, financial capability analysis, and risk management. Parameters such as Net Present Value …

Effectiveness Of Integrated Traffic Management Of Military Police And Traffic Police In Reducing Drive Speed N Arterial Roads: An Experimental Study, Teguh Patriot Jun 2023

Effectiveness Of Integrated Traffic Management Of Military Police And Traffic Police In Reducing Drive Speed N Arterial Roads: An Experimental Study, Teguh Patriot

CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development

The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (KORLANTAS POLRI) and the Army Staff and Command School (SESKOAD) conducted a joint study in early March 2023 to reduce the number of traffic accident victims by implementing traffic regulations by the Military Police and Traffic Police. One of the methods used by KORLANTAS POLRI is the installation of ETLE speed cameras on Jakarta toll roads, such as Cikampek, Jagorawi, Bitung, and others. At the end of 2022, 75 additional speed cameras had been installed on arterial roads in Jakarta.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness …

Partial Systems' Analysis Of Traffic Noise Reduction In Tarik Al Jadidah, Beirut, Ibtihal Y. El-Bastawissi, Nour El Baba, Shireen Khalil, Nour El Hage, Rouba Joumblat, Franz Gatzweiler May 2022

Partial Systems' Analysis Of Traffic Noise Reduction In Tarik Al Jadidah, Beirut, Ibtihal Y. El-Bastawissi, Nour El Baba, Shireen Khalil, Nour El Hage, Rouba Joumblat, Franz Gatzweiler

BAU Journal - Creative Sustainable Development

Traffic noise is considered one of the main pollutants in an urban space and has multiple side effects regarding the physical and mental health of the human being. Tarik Al Jadidah, one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Beirut City- Lebanon, is selected as urban area for a project-based initiative and the focal point of different studies in BAU Urban Lab. The area suffers from various urban problems, but prominently traffic noise that highly damages the urban residents' quality of life due to its high levels of traffic noise that surpasses the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.

BAU Urban …

Comparing Beijing's And Tokyo's Population Growths, Ernest M. Oleksy Dec 2018

Comparing Beijing's And Tokyo's Population Growths, Ernest M. Oleksy

The Downtown Review

The growth of the human population has led to the formation of largely populated agglomerations known as megacities. Although megacities can be found on multiple continents, Asia’s collection displays how megacities can develop in their own directions. Japan’s megacity of Tokyo, like other Japanese megacities, has adopted a western approach. China’s Beijing, on the other hand, continues to embrace its eastern roots. These megacities may differ in their ideologies, but they share in experiencing similar phenomena. One of these phenomena is population growth.

Robust Railroad Cable Detection In Rural Areas From Mls Point Clouds, Máté Cserép, Péter Hudoba, Zoltán Vincellér Jul 2018

Robust Railroad Cable Detection In Rural Areas From Mls Point Clouds, Máté Cserép, Péter Hudoba, Zoltán Vincellér

Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial (FOSS4G) Conference Proceedings

Monitoring of the railroad infrastructure is crucial for safety concerns and accident prevention. This task requires regular surveillance which is nowadays still carried out by expensive and time consuming manual visual inspections in many countries. The problem of railroad cable recognition (contact cables, catenary cables, return current cables) in rural areas based on LiDAR point clouds has it own methods, but current state of the art solutions suffer from extremely high computational load due the extensive size of the datasets. In this study we analyzed and compared novel robust solutions focusing on minimizing the assumptions (positions and distances of track …

Measuring Walkability: Development Of An Automated Sidewalk Quality Assessment Tool, Alexandra Frackelton, Alice Grossman, Evangelos Palinginis, Felipe Castrillon, Vetri Elango, Randall Guensler Jun 2013

Measuring Walkability: Development Of An Automated Sidewalk Quality Assessment Tool, Alexandra Frackelton, Alice Grossman, Evangelos Palinginis, Felipe Castrillon, Vetri Elango, Randall Guensler

Suburban Sustainability

Sidewalks are a critical part of sustainable transportation systems, supporting pedestrian travel and healthy physical activity. Presence and quality of sidewalks is a significant predictor of perceived safety and quality of the pedestrian environment. Lack of adequate pedestrian infrastructure data has been identified as a major barrier to large-scale pedestrian planning. Sidewalk presence, width, and surface condition are identified as important indicators of facility quality and accessibility. Georgia Tech is deploying an Android tablet application to automatically generate spatial sidewalk inventories, automatically assess sidewalk quality, and prioritize sidewalk repairs. The research team has collected field data on sidewalk segments across …

Spotlight On Construction: St. Simons' Library Welcomed 70th Anniversary In New Facility

Georgia Library Quarterly

The article announces the grand opening event of the St. Simons Public Library in Georgia in January 2007. The library also celebrated its 70th anniversary on March 16. According to Libby Hogan, chair of the library's board of directors, they have 1,200 extra square feet of space in the renovated building. St. Simons joined the Three Rivers Public Library System (TRRLS) and PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services), bringing its patrons access to more than 8.5 million items owned by other PINES member libraries. The library currently has approximately 35,000 volumes, according to manager Maureen Hersey.

Field Interpretation Of Latitude And Longitude In Arkansas: A Portable Coordinate Projection, William R. Teague Jan 2000

Field Interpretation Of Latitude And Longitude In Arkansas: A Portable Coordinate Projection, William R. Teague

Journal of the Arkansas Academy of Science

Two- and three-dimensional coordinate systems are fundamental to most quantitative mapping applications. The Geodetic, Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM),and State Plane systems have traditional roles in various science, surveying, and government agency engineering applications. The coordinates of three-dimensional Geodetic system are latitude, longitude, and height above ellipsoid (HAE).Because of its ability to cope with the intrinsically three dimensional character of the earth's surface, the Geodetic system is capable of supporting precise relative positioning and very high accuracy computations of distance between any two positions on or near the earth's surface. The two-dimensional UTMand State Plane systems are extremely useful for the …
