Deep Learning-Based Robotic Perception For Adaptive Facility Disinfection, Da Hu
Deep Learning-Based Robotic Perception For Adaptive Facility Disinfection, Da Hu
Doctoral Dissertations
Hospitals, schools, airports, and other environments built for mass gatherings can become hot spots for microbial pathogen colonization, transmission, and exposure, greatly accelerating the spread of infectious diseases across communities, cities, nations, and the world. Outbreaks of infectious diseases impose huge burdens on our society. Mitigating the spread of infectious pathogens within mass-gathering facilities requires routine cleaning and disinfection, which are primarily performed by cleaning staff under current practice. However, manual disinfection is limited in terms of both effectiveness and efficiency, as it is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and health-undermining. While existing studies have developed a variety of robotic systems for disinfecting …
Collaborative Planning In The Construction Industry: A Holistic Framework For Assessing Collaborative Planning Practices And Predicting Project Performance, Amr Elsayegh
Doctoral Dissertations
"The fragmentation of the construction industry prompted developing novel methods such as collaborative planning, lean construction, advancements in technology, integrated project delivery, and relational contracting. Current research focused on specific facets of collaborative planning without presenting a comprehensive analysis of its factors. As such, the goal of this research is to develop a holistic framework that studies and evaluates collaborative planning practices in construction projects. This research offers significant addition to the body of knowledge through various theoretical and practical contributions. In relation to that, this research developed a comprehensive framework by (1) identifying a comprehensive list of factors influencing …
Sustainable Infrastructure Development: A Holistic System Based Decision Making Framework Integrating Vulnerability Indicators And Stakeholders Objectives, Mohamed Saeid Eid
Sustainable Infrastructure Development: A Holistic System Based Decision Making Framework Integrating Vulnerability Indicators And Stakeholders Objectives, Mohamed Saeid Eid
Doctoral Dissertations
Infrastructure systems enable the host communities to expand, develop, and prosper in adequate socioeconomic conditions and healthy environment. Thus, the strategies for sustainable infrastructure development should aim to increase the individual utility of the local stakeholders, while reducing the vulnerability of the built environment to perturbations. Nevertheless, the available frameworks consider the development of the infrastructure systems as isolated projects and do not simultaneously address the needs of the stakeholders or the vulnerability of the built environment. The goal of this research is to provide decision makers and the research community with a novel infrastructure development framework that holistically balances …
