Hazardous gases are increasingly becoming a large safety concern as the world continues to grow and industrialize. The modeling of when hazardous gases breach containment is an extremely important objective of consequence assessment planning and response. To improve the understanding of the variability inherent in passive gas releases, a test program to demonstrate the variability of gas concentration measurements at different location in a passive gas plume released from an area source in the ultra-low speed wind tunnel at the Chemical Hazards Research Center.
