Equivalency Analysis Of Sidestick Controller Modes During Manual Flight, Alex Rummel
Equivalency Analysis Of Sidestick Controller Modes During Manual Flight, Alex Rummel
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Equivalency analysis is a statistical procedure that can enhance the findings of an analysis of variance in the case when non-significant differences are identified. The demonstration of functional equivalence or the absence of practical differences is useful to designers introducing new technologies to the flight deck. Proving functional equivalence is an effective means to justify the implementation of new technologies that must be "the same or better" than previous technology. This study examines the functional equivalency of three operational modes of a new active control sidestick during normal operations while performing manual piloting tasks. Data from a between-subjects, repeated-measures simulator …
A Training Effectiveness Evaluation Of Uh-60a/L Simulated Environments: An Interdisciplinary Approach, Martin Goodwin
A Training Effectiveness Evaluation Of Uh-60a/L Simulated Environments: An Interdisciplinary Approach, Martin Goodwin
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
The U.S. military continues to develop and expand its use of simulation-based aviation training. While traditional simulation-based training continues to be a proven training method, game-based simulation has become more sophisticated and may provide viable training options in some applications. The use of game-based simulation with traditional simulation-based training can potentially reduce costs, enhance return on investment, advance training objectives, and inform future training environment designs. Current fiscal limitations are driving the need for more efficient training methods, while operational requirements are dictating training protocols that produce optimum levels of readiness. The gap between fiscal constraints and desired training outcomes …

Save yourself first!
This one sentence is a valuable piece of advice I wish I had received and fully embraced so much earlier in life. In fact, it is still a notion that I struggle with because it is one that sounds selfish in nature. However, now more than at any other point in my life, I realize that in order to be selfless and to be able to assist others, you must first truly work on thinking of your own self first.
