Design And Analysis Of Sustained-G Flight Simulator Control Algorithm, Xiaoguang Zhou, Yihong Fang, Huaiying Tian, Mingzhi Yao
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: In order to solve the problem of mismatch exist between angular motions by Sustained-G Flight Simulator pilot through his proprioceptive receptors and visual receptors, the control algorithm of Sustained-G Flight Simulator is designed. The formulas relative to control input is derived; the mathematical model of human proprioceptive system is researched, the relationship between pilot's perceptual angular and rotating linear acceleration vectors and angular accelerations is given, based on that, the control algorithm of Sustained-G Flight Simulator is proposed, which can make a match existence between the angular motion perceived by Sustained-G Flight Simulator pilot and aircraft pilot. The simulation …

Trajectory Planning Method Of Overhead Crane, Xuejuan Shao, Li Yao, Jinggang Zhang, Xueliang Zhang
Journal of System Simulation
Abstract: To make the trolley of bridge crane move stably with smooth acceleration, a polynomial acceleration trajectory is proposed based on the constraint conditions of the crane and the friction between the trolley and the rail. An anti-swing plan is designed employing the dynamic coupling relationship between the motion of the trolley and the load swing. Results indicate that when the length of the rope is changed, the swing angle of the trolley is still within the limits. The stability of the system is proved by constructing Lyapunov energy equations, and the Barbalat lemma confirms that the planned reference trajectory …
From Roadmap To Implementation: Lessons For Ireland’S Digital Construction Programme, Barry Mcauley, Alan Hore, Roger West
From Roadmap To Implementation: Lessons For Ireland’S Digital Construction Programme, Barry Mcauley, Alan Hore, Roger West
Conference papers
As part of their Future of Construction initiative in 2018 the World Economic Forum published an action plan to accelerate Building Information Modelling adoption. The WEF report highlighted actions that companies, industry organisations and governments are advised to implement to accelerate BIM adoption and better capitalise on delivering better project outcomes. According the authors of the report BIM is seen as the centrepiece of the construction industry’s digital transformation, however they acknowledged that BIM adoption globally remain slow. Anecdotal experience would suggest that BIM usage in Ireland is also very low and that a similar initiative or an adaptation of …
Manufacturing And Testing The Permanent Magnet Linear Motor, Renjie Kang
Manufacturing And Testing The Permanent Magnet Linear Motor, Renjie Kang
Senior Theses
Controlled mechanical motion is vital in many useful applications in technology. Among them, linear motors have advantages over traditional rotating motors. In this work, we built a permanent magnet linear motor to test and measure its energy efficiency. A maximum 29% total energy efficiency, and 67% energy transfer rate, were detected. In addition, a C-shape support structure was added to the moving part in order to increase the moving accuracy. The tests show that, with the support structure, the fluctuation in the vertical direction decreases significantly, but the friction of the system slightly increases.
Experimentally Linking Head Kinematics To Brain Deformation, Imouline Algharbi
Experimentally Linking Head Kinematics To Brain Deformation, Imouline Algharbi
Theses
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) research is used to study the effects of brain injuries and the rehabilitations for them. TBI contributes to major cause of disability and deaths quantifying up to 30% of all the head injuries. To mimic real world impact to understand the mechanism of injury head-surrogate models are used. This thesis describes a method to record head kinematics from acceleration and angular rate sensors of head-brain surrogate model for blast and blunt injury. This methodology is validated through experimental testing. To get a better insight of the head kinematics experienced by a real skull a drop tower …
