This paper focuses on the design of Generic Model Control (GMC) algorithm for the control of the acetate concentration in a biomethanation process with production of methane gas. A nonlinear dynamic model for the biomethanation process is used in the derivation of the control law of Generic Model Control scheme. The controller parameters are estimated using the Trial and Error method. The effectiveness and performance of the proposed control strategy is illustrated by a MATLAB program under various operation conditions and disturbances. Laterally Diffused MOSFET (LDMOS) are widely used in modern communication industry and other applications. LDMOS offers various advantages over conventional MOSFETs with little process change. In the present paper, an LDMOS device is modeled and simulated in SILVACO device simulator package using the ATHENA and ATLAS modules. The complete fabrication process is modeled and the device performance is simulated. The modeled device gives a 46 V breakdown voltage for a device gate length of 5µm. This paper presents the selective harmonic elimination technique implementation for hybrid seven-level cascaded multilevel converter. The converter configuration is the cascaded connection of a three-level Active neutral-pointclamped (ANPC) converter and an H-bridge per phase, thus forming a hybrid seven-level multilevel converter. The converter is operated by maintaining the switching frequency of a converter to a minimum value using selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation (SHE-PWM). Analysis of the topology operated under SHE-PWM is presented on the basis of simulation results obtained from MATLAB/SIMULINK.

The energy crisis and shortage of fuel emanating from total dependence on mineral oil with resultant socioeconomic problems demand the need to explore the use of renewable energy as alternative. This study evaluates the physical properties Jatropha (Jatropha curcas) oil as alternative base oil for lubricant in auto engines. The mechanical properties of ukam fibre cashew nut shell resin composite were studied for possible structural application in engineering. Basically, the hand lay-up method was employed to manufacture the test samples of the composite by 40:60 weight ratio and testing the samples’ mechanical properties using the instron tensile machine and the izod impact machine respectively. Consequently, the experiments demonstrated that the ukam fibre reinforced cashew nut shell resin composite has a maximum tensile strength of 40.5MPa, the impact energy of 1.93J and a young tensile modulus of 1GPa. The present numerical study was performed by solving conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy along with two equation based k-ɛ model for a louvered horizontal cylindrical pipe by finite volume method. It was found that pipe air suction increased with increase in opening area and number of nozzles for both pipe configurations. In this paper an industrial blower with three different volute geometries is investigated by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
