One of the purposes of this study was to examine types of classroom management methods used by regular education teachers and special education teachers. Another purpose of this study was to·investigate which management strategies were the most successful and unsuccessful in regular education and special education classrooms . The subjects of this study included 96 elementary school teachers (N=96) from four counties in the state of Virginia. A self­ developed questionnaire, containing a Likert-type scale in Part A and open-ended questions in Part B, was used to collect data for this study. Theoretical and Behavioral Foundations of Education Faculty Publications

Abstract. Stouffer=s Z, a meta-analytic technique, was proposed by W. Braver and Braver (1988) for analyzing data collected from a Solomon Four-group Design. Sawilowsky, Kelley, Blair, and Markman (1994) showed that this technique produces inflated Type I error rates. Recommendations are made to control the false positive inflation of their procedure.

Compares the progressive philosophies of education of the municipal infant-toddler centers and preprimary schools of Reggio Emilia, and Bank Street College of Education and its School for Children. The histories and theoretical origins of each philosophy of education are introduced. The subjects in this study were 129 general educators from elementary schools in Virginia. These subjects all had at least one student with learning disabilities in the classroom. A researcher-developed, three part survey was used to collect the data . The survey examined relationships among factors influencing teachers' decisions to make accommodations and the actual accommodations that were employed in the classroom.

The results revealed several accommodations which were frequently implemented in the classroom by the general educators. These teachers often gave oral tests to students with learning disabilities, allowed the students to work in pairs, and individualized the assignments …

The purpose of this study was to discover and interpret reasons Florida parents enrolled their children in Islamic schools. A selection of 30 parents from 3 different schools in Florida were interviewed by the researcher using a semistructured interview guide which used both oral and written responses. The sample was matched according to the gender of parents interviewed - 15 mothers and 15 fathers were interviewed. the sample was matched according to the gender of the referent child. The primary purpose of this study was to explore how selected elementary school principals described and defined their world in terms of leadership and management.
