Undergraduate Students (AquEOUS) Fellowship. This new USDA Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates (REEU) at the University of Maine's Wabanaki Center and Aquaculture Research Institute (ARI) and in collaboration with Wabanaki Youth in Science offers undergraduate students from around the nation an opportunity to combine traditional ecological knowledge from indigenous science with STEM concepts from western science to solve real-world problems in aquaculture at the University of Maine’s world-class aquaculture facilities.

Adams Chosen As 2023 Artist In Residence At Acadia National Park, Clement And Linda Mcgillicuddy Humanities Center

Hollie Adams, assistant professor of English at UMaine and MHC Faculty Advisory Group member, has been selected as one of 13 artists selected for Acadia National Park’s Artist-in-Residence Program in 2023. Adams is the author of the novel “Things You’ve Inherited from Your Mother” and the hybrid prose-poetry chapbook “Deliver Me from Swedish Furniture,” which was a finalist for the bpNichol Chapbook Award.

We are delighted to present the 2022 Research Report for the University of Maine. This year marked the realization of a historic accomplishment by Maine’s land, sea, and space grant university. In January 2022, UMaine ascended to the highest tier of national research universities by earning a Carnegie R1 classification and joining the ranks of the nation’s top doctoral universities with very high research activity.

The McGillicuddy Humanities Center and UMaine Office of International Programs (OIP) are pleased to announce the winners of its Global Perspectives for Humanities Exploration and Global Exploration and Language Opportunities Awards, each given to UMaine undergraduates completing a study abroad program during the semester of the award. This year’s recipient of the Global Perspectives for Humanities Exploration Award is Eli Lines. The recipient of the Global Exploration and Language Opportunities Award is Teagan Russell.

Four Students Selected To Join Mcgillicuddy Humanities Center As Fellows In Spring 2023, Clement And Linda Mcgillicuddy Humanities Center

Beginning this spring the Clement and Linda McGillicuddy Humanities Center (MHC) at the University of Maine will welcome four new undergraduate research fellows for the next year: Paige Allen, Sebastien Chamberlain, Abigail Roberts and Willow Wind. This new cohort will join existing fellows Bell Gellis Morais, Brenna Jones, Paige McHatten and Donald Patten, who will see the culmination of their MHC projects in the coming months.
