This study’s purpose was to identify the effects of video modeling in a group, using the target behaviors of appropriate play and independent cleaning. The participants within the study were a group of preschool special education students. The disabilities and behaviors represented within the group varied. This study was an action research study with an A-B-A design. Data were recorded to obtain the frequency of redirection needed during playing and cleaning, the duration of playing and cleaning, and the number of independent cleaners. This study examined the effect of middle school student mobility on standardized test achievement in mathematics and reading. The variables of gender and poverty were also examined in the context of their relationship to a student’s mobility. The data set consisted of the mathematics and reading scores of 9,083 middle school students in a large Tennessee school system of approximately 42,000 students. The first research question asked if there were any differences between mobile and non-mobile students on the mathematics and reading sections of Tennessee Comprehensive Achievement Program Achievement Test (TCAP). This study examined attributes of self-directed learning (SDL) in students, grades 8 through 12, taking online courses through a state-wide online program in the Southeastern United States. The study investigated whether distinct latent classes of SDL exist; whether there was a significant difference in SDL according to gender, ethnicity, and grade level; and whether significantly different online course completion, online final grade, or GPA were associated with SDL class membership. Existing data from 780 enrollments included masked demographic and achievement data, and responses to the 12-item Self-directed Learning Inventory (SDLI) with responses based on a five-point Likert scale. The author served as facilitator of a group of graphic design college students at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). These students embarked on a collaborative, 24-hour+, work-around-the-clock, creative blitz and used design thinking to serve the needs of Dalewood Middle School in Chattanooga. Students collaborated with industry professionals and community members through CreateAthon onCampus at Chattanooga. Through the lens of this experiential, project-based initiative, this study explores the students’ learning and leadership experiences, created by the connection between education, industry, and community. This study sought to determine the perception of servant leadership in business-model organizational settings and to assess the potential significance between servant leadership perception and variables, both demographic and others, related to volunteer service. Using the Servant Leadership Scale (Liden et al., 2008), a 28-item survey, combined with 9 additional questions, individuals in five organizational settings in the Southeast region of the United States of America were queried via an online survey method distributed by email. The purpose of this study was to explore uses of arts instruction in regular K-5 elementary school classrooms in a large southeastern school district to determine which arts instruction models were being employed and whether or not any particular model had a greater perceived impact on students and teachers. The mixed-methods study combined interview and survey data and included a population of approximately 120 teachers. The purpose of this quantitative study was to identify the workforce skills perceived to be critical in the Chattanooga region, and to explore how colleges and businesses can partner to effectively develop those skills. Data from a June 2011 survey of workforce stakeholders in the Chattanooga region were analyzed. The 78 survey respondents represent a cross-section of industries and organization sizes. The methodology used to identify critical workforce skills was designed to select skills considered to be important regardless of factors such as industry type or organization size. National organizations have indicated that it is best practice to monitor the development of children in childcare agencies. Many childcare agencies do not heed this advice. An exploratory study was completed using mixed methodology with 136 childcare agencies in Hamilton County, Tennessee. Center-based childcare and family/group agencies were examined. These groups were further divided into childcare agencies and family/group agencies that use and do not use assessments.
