The problem of this study was to determine if significant differences existed between teachers and school board members in two school districts in Kentucky in their perceptions of 35 selected educational issues and procedures. The population studied included all teachers and board members in the two selected school districts. A study of the county school district in Kentucky was conducted in 1973 and in 1982. Study of the city school district in Kentucky was only conducted in 1982. Chi-square statistics were used to analyze the data. Fifteen null hypotheses were tested in this study. The purpose of this study was to determine the administrative structure, staff qualifications, and staffing patterns of selected school-age child care projects administered by public school districts; and to develop guidelines for planning future projects. The purposes of this study were (1) to determine selected demographic characteristics of master degree graduates, who majored in school administration, and who graduated from the Graduate Division of Education since the 1976 Summer quarter through the 1981 Summer quarter; (2) to ascertain the extent to which these graduates perceived the courses of instruction in their academic preparationas being relevant to subsequent educational administration functions; and (3) to determine additional courses of instruction, not in the present curriculum, that these selected graduates perceived would be professionally relevant to current educational administrative functions.

Preparation and certification of school principals at Central Washington University have developed according to the requirements of the Washington State Standards. This study determined the real and estimated costs for the development, implementation, and operation of the competency-based, principal preparation program. A questionnaire elicited data from participants and revealed that professional time devoted to the project incurred the greatest costs. The developmental period was determined to be the most expensive phase. An instrument for future data collection was devised and recommended.

Problem. The primary intent of this investigation was to ascertain the extent to which technological subject matter has been incorporated into the courses offered in Northern California high schools. Personal opinions as well as factual information regarding this issue were elicited from representative samples of high school administrators and recent high school graduates. Procedure. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether students in bilingual designated classes who received B/CC instruction by a teacher with a B/CC Specialist Credential have higher gains in reading and math when compared with students who received instruction by a teacher with a B/CC Certificate of Competence and a B/CC Waiver Certificate. The opinions of school principals and superintendents were assessed concerning federal and state paperwork requirements. A questionnaire was used to obtain the opinions of eighty school administrators. The results showed that school administrators expend a considerable amount of time completing federal and state paperwork. The cost of completing paperwork was found to represent a large portion of the education budget in Washington State. Related problems are discussed.

The problem of this study was to determine if differences existed in the supervisors' perceptions of the importance of specified supervisory competencies. A list of thirty-six competencies which had been developed and validated by Ben M. Harris was adopted. Competencies were defined as any combination of knowledge and skill that is adequate for accomplishing some specified outcome. Included in the study were supervisors at the state department level in nine Southeastern states which were as follows: Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The purpose of this study was to investigate school building utilization in Kentucky and make appropriate recommendations for efficient procedural guidelines in the decision-making process for future utilization. The study was presented in five parts. First, related literature was searched for criteria for guidelines for building utilization. Second, a survey instrument was mailed to the 181 school superintendents of Kentucky to determine building utilization. One hundred percent were returned. A search was made to locate public secondary schools which housed grade twelve and whose curricula were in keeping with State requirements for a diploma. The purpose of this study was the description of the instructional supervisory role in the state of Tennessee as perceived by county public school instructional supervisors. The description constituted a determination of differences which exist between the actual and ideal role perceptions of county instructional supervisors. The purpose of this study was to determine if the leader behavior of the principal and the organizational climate of the school were perceived differently by teachers in elementary schools with female principals when compared to elementary schools with male principals.
