The Development And Testing Of Audio-Visual-Tutorial Materials As One Method To Assist In The Teaching Of Basic Accounting Principles And Concepts At Marshalltown Community College, Lyle R. Niemeyer

The purposes of this study were: (1) to develop Audio-Visual-Tutorial (AVT) materials to supplement the teaching of Accounting I at the community college level and (2) to compare the results obtained in an experimental group using two units of AVT materials with a control group attending regular lecture sessions.

The AVT slide and tape presentation was developed during the spring and summer of 1971. Statement of the Problem The problem of this study was to examine the effects of a required core physical fitness unit upon college women's attitudes toward physical fitness. The study compared attitudes before and after the unit, and the post-unit attitude scores were compared to a fitness unit evaluation form used by the Women's Physical Education Department. A sub-problem of the study was to construct and validate an attitude questionnaire to measure attitudes toward physical fitness. The study of task identification in clothing; apparel; and textile services presents statistical correlations of task frequencies obtained by questionnaire in six task clusters for the occupations of fabric specialist; tailor; alternation specialist; dry cleaner; launderer; and clothing apparel and textile service occupations. One-way matrices present; for each occupation; task clusters and tasks within each cluster arranged vertically in descending order of overall mean frequency of performance. This study had three purposes. The first was to describe the perceptions of Iowa high school principals with regard to some innovative counselor functions. The second was to compare the principals' perceptions of the innovative functions with Iowa secondary counselors' own role conceptions. The third purpose was to compare secondary counselors' perceptions of their principals' response with the principals' actual response.
