Future Capability Of Education To Embrace The Knowledge Economy, David Lynch, Rebecca Deagan

Professor David Lynch

The 2000 epoch is known as the Knowledge Economy and there has been much written about its impact on society. Legal Consciousness And Lgbt Research: The Importance Of Law In The Everyday Lives Of Lgbt Individuals, Nancy J. Knauer

Nancy J. Knauer

The law occupies a prominent place in the everyday lives of LGBT individuals, and the continuing regulation and policing of sexuality and gender weighs heavily on many people who identify as LGBT. Despite remarkable progress in the area of LGBT civil rights, LGBT individuals in the United States still lack formal equality and are denied many of the protections that are afforded other historically disadvantaged groups. To complement the data gathered through interviews, each interview was followed by a discussion session within a group of graduate architecture students, reflecting …

remains problematic for Black students from preschool to college education
settings (Advancement Project, 2005; Arrington, Hall, & Stevenson, 2003;
Cole & Arriola, 2007; Gilliam, 2005; Rosenbloom & Way, 2004). The burden
of shouldering this perceived and actual hostility is not solely confronted
by youth as many African American parents also worry about the emotional
costs …
