This thesis is a study of jigs and fixtures and a classification of typical examples collected from the school wood shops. A definition of the terms, jig and fixture, as they apply to the school wood shop is offered. The chief sources of information were: interviews with school and college wood shop instructors and with furniture factory superintendents. Visitations were made to school and college wood shops and to furniture factories. Letters were sent to the outstanding shop instructors of this vicinity. The available literature was analyzed. Established in 1998, this museum is located on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln East Campus.
