An Analysis Of Selected Science Curriculum Guides, Juanita S. Ellison
Graduate Student Research Papers
This study is an analysis of six science programs for the primary grades by examination of the guides. The guides have been studied; first, for rationale--the reason given for the guide; second, for the content--what is being taught and at what grade level; and third, for the processes used in teaching. The guides are: 1. Madison Public Schools, Guide to Teaching Science, 1960. 2. Richland Public Schools, Teaching Science in the Elementary, 1966. 3. A Study Of The Values And Problems Relative To The Use Of Parents And Other Resource Persons In The Elementary School Social Studies Program, Evelyn L. Larson
Graduate Student Research Papers
One of the purposes of this study was to find if the use of resource persons is a valuable and sound method of teaching. Another purpose was to find the values of such teaching to the child, to the teacher and to the parent. Is it a justifiable technique for developing the purposes and reaching the goals of a well planned social studies program? Another purpose was to expose the problems involved in the use of this method and to try to solve at least some of them.

Knowledge of facts discovered by scientists give rise to conceptions that vitalize thinking in many fields and cause the redirection of human activities. Scientific conceptions such as time, space, change, variety, adaptation, and interrelationships have exerted profound influence upon thinking in wide areas of human affairs. These concepts can never be mastered, but they …

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
The major reason for this survey was to secure definite facts and opinions from superintendents, principals and teachers in elementary and secondary schools on the subject of handwriting. The aim of the writer was to determine:
- The extent to which outlined courses of study in handwriting are followed.
- The number of special instructors in handwriting, whether part- or full-time and other subjects they teach.
- Whether handwriting is taught incidentally with other subjects with no formal lessons, or as a …
