There are many students who have quite serious reading problems which are not attributable to below normal intelligence. The task of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the Neurological Impress Method of reading instruction with these kinds of students. The method was evaluated in terms of its effect on the students' reading comprehension and reading vocabulary.

Professional trombonists and teachers of the instrument do not agree on the various aspects of slide technique. The purpose of this paper is to compare slide techniques for the trombone. Therefore, basic concepts of holding the instrument will be examined, as well as concepts about the manipulation of the slide.

The intention of this report is to present a still picture of the selected area as of the summer of 1966. The emphasis is on empirical relationships. The data contained herein will provide a base for subsequent analysis. Thus little attempt is made to cast the findings of the study in a theoretical framework. Later publications will utilize relevant theory and research to analyze the social and economic changes in an area related to the building of the Dickey and Lincoln School Dams. A Study Assessing Changes Occurring In Kindergarten Children At Central School, Hoquiam, Washington, During The School Year 1967-1968 In Terms Of Readiness And Academic Growth, Elizabeth Pinkley Morris

A group of fifty-one kindergarten children (23 boys and 28 girls) from Central School in Hoquiam, Washington, were studied for the purpose of evaluating changes occurring during the school year in terms of readiness and academic growth. A series of tests were given in October and November as an inventory of the child's background of skills and readiness in the fall, and the tests were repeated in May to measure any change occurring during the school year.

The study was developed with three purposes: to develop WPCT normative data for Central Washington State College (CWSC), to establish the validity of the WPCT for CWSC, and to provide expectancy tables for the use of school guidance personnel in counseling students who are present or anticipate attending CWSC.
