Ten college students were subjects of an experiment dealing with the teaching of perfect pitch through programmed learning. The experiment was based on a similar study by Dr. Robert W. Lundin. An attempt was made to use equipment readily available in public schools, and to make the lessons as nearly self-teaching as possible.

The purpose of the study was to determine if changes would occur in the academic achievement of a class and if student attitude would change towards geography as a subject after being taught under an individualized instructional program. Student scholastic performance in geography since the third grade was compared to achievement under the individualized program in the seventh grade and student opinions about geography were solicited before and after the study. This study was made to determine whether programmed reading materials could correct some of the reading difficulties that develop in children more effectively than the conventional basal approach to reading. Other purposes were to evaluate (1) the financial and administrative feasibility of programmed materials, (2) their effectiveness in individualizing instruction in reading, and (3) the benefits and/or hindrances these materials were to the teacher and students while working in a self-contained classroom situation.

The purpose of this study was to make statistical comparisons of the mean correct-words-a-minute scores of students taught by two different methods and materials as presented by two different textbooks. Comparisons were made after twelve, twenty-four, and thirty-six weeks of instruction to determine the effectiveness of each textbook in developing speed in beginning typewriting students.

At the present time in the State of Washington, there are no reports with detailed information about the number of secondary schools using closed circuit television, nor is there information on the type of equipment or its use in existing closed circuit television facilities. Therefore, it is the purpose of this study to assess the current facilities and uses of closed circuit television in the secondary schools of the State of Washington. The assessment of facilities throughout the state would be valuable to schools in the purchasing of equipment and the establishment of new programs in closed circuit television.

To determine the effect of a teacher's reading literature upon the interest in reading books among sixth grade students, one group (experimental) participated in a twenty-eight week program of scheduled daily time during which they listened to literature read by their teacher. A second group (control) were not exposed to literature in this manner but otherwise participated in a similar school program.
