It is the purpose of this study (1) to determine the extent to which audio-visual aids are being used in the Albuquerque public schools; (2) to appraise the adequacy of the budget for a program in a school systems of this size; (3) to evaluate the efficiency of the administrative program of audio-visual aids in the Albuquerque public school system; and (4) to determine the inter-relationship of the above factors.

It is the purpose of this study (1) to present and analyze the percentage distribution of the municipal and rural school district maintenance funds for the school years 1938-1939, 1941-1942, 1944-1945, and 1947-1928 for the following major classifications of current expense; a. general control, b. instruction, c. operation of the school plant, d. maintenance and fixed charges, and e. auxiliary and coordinate activities; (2) to determine the costs per pupil in average daily attendance for each of the above mentioned classifications of current expense for municipal and rural school districts for the stated years; and (3) to determine and compare …

The Malaga community is the southernmost settlement in Eddy County, New Mexico. The village is seventeen miles southeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico, on U.S. Highway 85, and eighteen miles north of the southern boundary of the state. Early settlement and development of the community is traced in a survey made in 1941 by Johansen and Rossoff.
One hundred forty-three pupils were enrolled in the school in May, 1948. The school census as of April, 1948, listed 191 school-age persons in the community. Eight of the latter were attending the high school at Carlsbad. The remainder of those on the school …

It is the purpose of this study (1) to investigate the interests of elementary school children of the intermediate grades in the social studies teaching materials; (2) to compare the interests of children in certain materials with the frequency of the materials' utilization as made by a group of intermediate grade teachers; and (3) to suggest a usage or grade placement of specific materials, if there is a decided indication, in accord with these findings.

The purpose of this study is to produce an accurate record of events in the formation and development of the Negro Oklahoma Interscholastic Association, in order that those responsible for its purposes and policies may use these experiences as a guide in present and future situations. Incidental to this record 1) trends in the development of the association will be determined; 2) comparison will be made with similar associations in the other states; and 3) causes and reasons will be given for the establishment, continued existence, and growth and development of the organization with which this study is concerned.

Statement of the problem. It is the purpose of this study to trace the development of public education in the Lincoln County from 1869, when the county was created, to the modern school of 1948. The writer will discuss the educational opportunities in an area where bandits became famous, and where men fought men in an effort to exist. Through limited, education was carried on even in the midst of Indian massacres and the "Lincoln County Wars."

It is the purpose of this study to present the results of an investigation of these entrance tests, which were given under the auspices of the Registrar's Office and the Education Department to freshmen who entered school at Western Kentucky State College in September 1948.
The problem set up is of a three-fold nature, namely:
- To determine the value, if any, of the entrance examinations as predictive agents for college success.
- To study the weaknesses exhibited by students on the arithmetic achievement test.
- To suggest remedial measures for the weaknesses revealed by the arithmetic test.
