Ouachita Baptist University recognized six outstanding alumni in the ninth class of Ouachita Alumni Milestone Award recipients at its recent Homecoming football game. This year’s honorees represent the graduating classes of 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998 and 2008. Honored for their professional achievements, community service and dedication to their alma mater, they were selected by a committee of Ouachita faculty, staff and President Ben Sells to represent their respective classes.

Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the prestigious National Science Foundation to advance the incorporation of cell culture-based research into undergraduate classes. The Signal Earns Gold Medalist Rating From Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Ouachita News Bureau

The Signal, Ouachita Baptist University’s student newspaper, and its accompanying website was awarded a Gold Medalist rating from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in the category of College Hybrid News. The highest rating given by CSPA, the award was announced last week and included a critique of both the print and web editions during the 2017-18 academic year.

A total of 774 students, faculty and staff from Ouachita Baptist University served the community of Arkadelphia during Tiger Serve Day on Saturday, Sept. 22, all while rain came down periodically throughout the morning. This September Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Visual Arts is hosting guest artist Lin Holland and her exhibit “Informed by Shadows.” Holland serves as fine art course leader and senior professional tutor at Liverpool Hope University and specializes in sculpture and site-specific installations. Holland’s exhibit will be on display through Sept. 29 in the Rosemary Gossett Adams Galleries in Moses-Provine Hall. It is free and open to the public.
