Research For Non-Profits, A Service Learning Class In Grantseeking Research, Alyssa Wright
Faculty & Staff Scholarship
This chapter describes Research for Non-Profits a 300/500 level service-learning course that introduces non-profits and grantseeking while teaching research and information literacy skills. New Possibilities: Alliance Tackles Nursing Shortage, Ben Sells
Press Releases
Arkansas is facing a healthcare crisis. By the year 2020, the Institute of Medicine forecasts a shortage of 15,000 nurses. The impact is real: less accessible healthcare and overworked nurses, especially in rural communities.
Such challenges create opportunities for innovation.
Ouachita Baptist University and Baptist Health have developed an innovative approach—more than two years in the making—to get more nurses in the workforce sooner. For many reasons, including our similar missions and shared values, our partnership is a natural fit.

Higher education is a bureaucracy. As such, colleges and universities require strong leaders but they also must have committed faculty members. Shared governance and transparency - arguably empty buzz words – have definitions that will vary based on who you ask. Despite the minefield, these terms are relevant when discussing change within academia.
