International students encounter many issues when living and studying in the United States. It is essential to understand how these adult students make meaning of these experiences. The purpose of this study was to gain insights into the meaning of the lived experiences of international students living and studying in the U.S. six months after returning to their home country. Phenomenology was the research approach used to explore participants’ perspectives of their lived experiences. Findings show how the interactions between participants’ development and the multiple systems they lived through influenced their experiences and perspectives and contributed to their identity development. …

งานวิจัยชิ้นนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ มีวัตถุประสงค์ (1) เพื่อศึกษาบริบทของชุมชนย่าน เมืองเก่า จังหวัดสงขลา ทีเกี่ยวข้องกับการจัดการศึกษา (2) เพื่อศึกษาทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต ผ่านการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน (3)เสนอแนวทางการจัดการศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอด ชีวิตผ่านการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน โดยทำการวิจัยทั้งหมด 3 ขั้นตอน ขั้นตอนที่1ศึกษาบริบทของ ชุมชนย่านเมืองเก่า จังหวัดสงขลา ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการจัดการศึกษา โดยศึกษาจากผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อง ในชุมชนทั้งหมด 17 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือการสัมภาษณ์จากผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในชุมชนย่านเมืองเก่า จังหวัดสงขลา ขั้นตอนที่ 2 ศึกษาทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตผ่านการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชน โดยมี กลุ่มตัวอย่างทั้งหมด 400 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือแบบสอบถามทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต ขั้นตอน ที่3 เสนอแนวทางการจัดการศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริมทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตผ่านการท่องเที่ยวโดย ชุมชน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ชุมชนมีบริบทการจัดการศึกษาในชุมชน มีสถานที่และบุคคลที่สามารถ พัฒนาเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ได้ เมื่อศึกษาทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตของนักท่องเที่ยวพบว่ามีทักษะการ ค้นหาคาตอบมีค่าเฉลี่ยมากที่สุด (x̄ = 4.29) และทักษะความคิดสร้างสรรค์มีค่าเฉลี่ยน้อยที่สุด ( x̄ = 2.54) จากนั้นผู้วิจัยนาผลที่ได้จากการวิจัยมาพัฒนาเป็นแนวทางในการจัดการศึกษาเพื่อส่งเสริม ทักษะการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตผ่านการท่องเที่ยวโดยชุมชนโดยประกอบด้วย 3 แนวทาง ได้แก่ 1.แนว ทางการจัดการศึกษาในระบบโรงเรียน ได้แก่การส่งเสริมให้โรงเรียนมาเรียนรู้ร่วมกับชุมชน 2.แนว ทางการจัดการศึกษานอกระบบโรงเรียน ได้แก่ การส่งเสริมให้การศึกษานอกโรงเรียนเข้าไปมีส่วน ร่วมในชุมชน และ 3.แนวทางการจัดการศึกษาตามอัธยาศัย ได้แก่ ชุมชนจัดการศึกษาโดยให้ใช้สิ่งที่ มีในชุมชนมาจัดการศึกษาในชุมชน

Context-Focused Grammar Teaching: A Comparison Between English Present Perfect And Past Tenses And Affects On Korean English Learning, Seungheui (Ellie) Lee

Despite massive amounts of time Korean English Learners (KLL) study English grammar, they continue to have problems becoming proficient in verb tenses, especially the present perfect. This study examines this problem through a linguistic comparative analysis of Korean and English present perfect and past tenses. Two possible reasons for KLL difficulty with verb tenses could be mode of instruction and L1 interference.

This study focuses on the outwardly similar cultures of Taiwan and mainland China and the subtle differences within them. The study was conducted as part of the requirements of doctoral program in Instructional Design and Development at a public university in the southeastern United States. Using a qualitative case study approach, the study demonstrates that there are cultural similarities between mainland China and Taiwan, however instructors should also be aware of the differences when developing relationships with students and developing course content. Phonics Instruction has had a controversial history. How to teach phonics to Spanish-speaking ELs is also controversial. Understanding the differences between Spanish and English and how phonics instruction occurs in each language would be insightful. Also, knowing how the nature of the two languages affects instruction would be beneficial. Furthermore, exploiting similarities between English and Spanish and examining differences will bolster instruction. This paper will discuss the reasons for word study and how it may be utilized to teach spelling and decoding to Spanish-speaking ELLs.

The purpose of this study was to determine if school-based occupational therapists who participated in a series of online professional development modules on the topic of fieldwork education reported increased feelings of self-efficacy regarding the ability to fulfill the role of fieldwork educator. In this single-group design, participants completed a series of six online professional development modules. Each module consisted of a narrated slideshow presentation, case study activity, and online discussion board. Participants completed a self-efficacy survey before and after completing the series of modules. In this descriptive research study, I identified industry-recognized workforce credentials that are or will be in high demand by employers operating in Virginia. I surveyed a targeted group of Virginia workforce development stakeholders including 17 Virginia Community College System workforce development leaders who represent each local community college, 47 Virginia local and regional economic development directors, and 11 Virginia Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act directors. Due to the economic disparity between rural and urban areas, I also examined the contrast between high-demand credentials needed by employers in rural and urban areas.
