A percentage of its total operating budget, Mill Street Loft's (MSL) individual donations have remained at 3 percent since 2011. MSL would like to launch new programs and expand program scholarship assistance but is unable to do so because of its small level of discretionary income. This study examines how MSL can enhance fundraising strategies to increase individual donations.

In 2011, ACCORD, A Center for Dispute Resolution, Inc. lost 54% of its funding which caused major organizational changes, making it difficult to implement better donor development strategies. In the 2011-2012 fiscal year, donations from individuals made up only 1% of ACCORD's revenue.

Direct Service volunteers are a critical component to ACCORD's service delivery and mission accomplishment. Therefore, ACCORD is committed to maintaining its cadre of direct service volunteers. However, in 2012, ACCORD noticed a drop in the number of its direct service volunteers. The current Executive Director of ACCORD linked this drop wit h the budget cut the agency experienced in May 2011, which resulted in ACCORD's inability to provide as much support and to offer tangible rewards to its direct service volunteers as frequently as it used to.

In 2010, the South Central New York American Red Cross region underwent an organizational restructuring process. In particular, the changes that resulted from this process led to a decrease in volunteer satisfaction. This decrease in volunteer satisfaction is a significant problem for the American Red Cross given that volunteer compromise 96% of their workforce.

AS local and state government increasingly loo to cut costs, save money, and explore service alternatives, juvenile detention bed capacity has decreased dramatically in New York State over the past few years. Concerned about the impact this reduction is having on youth, families and communities, the Juvenile Detention Association of New York State has begun to confront the issue of detention capacity management.
