One, and perhaps the most significant of these institutions is the waqf/hubus system. Characterized by the designation of a property or revenue stream as mortmain and the investment of the usufruct for the benefit of (often predetermined) beneficiaries, this form of charitable endowment is hailed as a cornerstone of Islamic civilization. This Research project serves predominantly as a feasibility index for the permanent funding and endowment of the Zips rifle club at the University of Akron. Among the objectives covered was the description and assessment of the clubs financial needs, the calculation of capitalization, and best options for permanent funding.

Student Works

The environmental and social risks of climate change are well known and perhaps inevitable. The economic and financial risks are less so. The many financial risks associated with climate change embedded in endowment portfolio fossil fuel holdings are leading many institutional stakeholders to enter into dialogue and take action. Divestment is emerging as an effective strategy for limiting portfolio exposure and tackling climate change itself.

Our team’s goals were to assess whether the Clark University endowment portfolio faces any of these risks and evaluate the impacts on asset values. Our findings show that the Clark endowment does face these same …

Endowment Differences And The Composition Of Intra-Industry Trade, Manuel Cabral, Rodney Falvey, Chris Milner

The empirical relationship between differences in endowments and different types of trade is investigated in this paper. Although net trade (NT) and vertical intra-industry trade (IIT) are both broadly viewed as reflecting endowment differences, we suggest that there will be systematic differences in the way their shares of trade adjust as endowment differences become larger. Empirical evidence for European Union trade with its 52 major trading partners confirms this. The share of horizontal IIT (net trade) decreases (increases) for all increases in absolute endowment differences, but the share of vertical IIT can both increase and decrease with increases in endowment …

The purpose of this thesis was to examine the history of the permanent endowment fund of Ouachita Baptist University located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. This endowment fund has played a major role in providing financial stability for the University since the funds' beginning.

The information compiled within this thesis has been derived from every known source. The minutes of the Board of Trustees of Ouachita Baptist University supplied the major portion of the information.
