Private and public concern about digital security, cybercrime and data privacy is growing the last few years. If Internet-related markets are flexible enough to cope with security concerns, given time, one would expect that - per unit of Internet traffic - the number and costs of cybersecurity incidents fall over time. This paper is a first attempt to assess empirically whether overall Internet traffic growth has grown faster than the number of cybersecurity incidents. In an experimental quantitative research design, data from the Futures Market for commodities and foreign exchange futures covering 1986-2011 were obtained and addressed. A General Regression Neural Network was overlaid on this data to deduce a time-series prediction model for wheat prices. Performance prediction error was only 4.42%.

Bringing innovation to the marketplace for new products and services involves creativity, a culture in which change flourishes, and leadership that thrives on transformation and complexity. This study explored the potential for market disruption or change based on innovations involving patents granted to nonfinancial services organizations that could affect financial services, specifically consumer or retail bank products. It involved analyzing documents related to recently granted patents and completing a mixed methods survey integrating the Delphi research technique.
