The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between organizational learning and expatriation in overseas subsidiaries as well as in organizations as a whole. In doing so, two issues were addressed - () the use of expatriation as firms internationalize, and (ii) the significance of various factors to expatriate success as firms gain international experience. The culture of an organization constitutes the environment into which information systems (IS) practices take place. Despite the importance of culture in the organizational theory and management literature, this topic has received little attention in the IS area. The culture of an organization can be looked at from different angles. In addition to the usual view of culture, the integration view, two other perspectives have been identified in the literature: the differentiation and fragmentation perspectives. Since the seminal works of Markowitz (1952), Sharpe (1964), and Lintner (1965), numerous studies on portfolio selection and performance measure have been based upon the mean-variance framework. However, several researchers [e.g., Arditti (1967, and 1971), Samuelson (1970), and Rubinstein (1973)] argue that the higher moments cannot be neglected unless there is reason to believe that: (i) the asset returns are normally distributed and the investor's utility function is quadratic, or (ii) the empirical evidence demonstrates that higher moments are irrelevant to the investor's decision. An After Tax Economic Analysis Of Home Equity Conversion For The Elderly, Lowell James Cramer

The FHA program to insure reverse mortgages has brought additional attention to the use of home equity conversion to increase income to the elderly. Using simulation, this study compares the economic consequences of the FHA reverse mortgage with two alternative conversion vehicles: sale of a remainder interest and sale-leaseback. An FHA insured plan is devised for each vehicle, structured to represent fair substitutes for the FHA mortgage. In addition, the FHA mortgage is adjusted to allow for a 4 percent annual increase in distributions to the homeowner. The Relationship Between Spokesperson Credibility And Purchase Intentions : A Proposed Theory And Experimental Evaluation, Oscar Winston Deshields

The purpose of this dissertation is to develop and evaluate an expanded spokesperson credibility model to address issues uncovered in Ohanian's (1991) study about linkages between spokespersons ' credibility and consumers ' purchase intentions. Based on Tajfel's social categorization theory (1981), 12 hypotheses were developed to test direct and indirect relationships between spokesperson's credibility and purchase intentions.

The sample for the study consisted of 1,162 respondents 82.9% students and 17.1% nonstudents; 48.2% males and 51.4% females; 31.3% Caucasian (American); 24.5% Cuban (American); 19.6% other Hispanics and 22.5% other ethnic groups. The data were collected .by having respondents either view a …

This brand loyalty, which became evident through the use of a survey, was then to be thoroughly evaluated. The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a need and a market for the production of video-taped employee training films specifically geared to subjects unique to club management. Data was collected by telephonic inquiries to the major commercial film houses affiliated with the production of hospitality training films, by inquiry with all nationally organized club management associations, and routine queries with professionals in the field on the subject matter.
