Branding is key for the programs to capture the attention of children and parents to better communicate core values and positive intentions. Toward the end of his life, Dunbar struggled to cope with his tuberculosis and turned to alcohol to ease his pain. As his condition worsened, Tobey began to worry about him and wrote him this moving letter of optimism expressing his sympathy regarding Paul living with a painful and deadly disease. The Tuskegee Institute was the first higher education institute opened for African Americans. Booker T. Washington was one of the founders who helped establish the school. During the time of this letter, Dunbar was struggling with his tuberculosis diagnosis, however he was still writing and producing new work. Dunbar's illness necessitated treatment in a time before antibiotics, and the popular treatment was to use whiskey to manage extreme pain. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 included water-related goals. However, rainwater is not recognized as an important resource in Japan. To address this issue, “Amamizu Drinks,” which involve a non-routine experience of “drinking rainwater,” were developed as tools for creating awareness regarding rainwater conservation. Additionally, three types of label designs were created, and their effectiveness in developing rainwater awareness was investigated. As a result of the survey, label designs with handwritten illustrations were found to be the most preferred, and the color evaluation was particularly high. "Press Play" arises from a conviction that a predilection to play is not an infantile diversion; instead, it extends our human ability to magnify, augment and shape reality. This thesis moves through different sites —all metaphorical playgrounds— where cultural repertoires are altered, negotiated, and invented through play. Each playground is a laboratory for innovation and a catalyst for developing a mental aptitude for reimagining ways to occupy familiar structures: the slide, swing, carousel, jungle gym, and bench as navigational spaces.
