The Scriptural Doctrine Of The Atonement With Special Reference To The False Theories Of Atonement, Arnold V. Kuster Jun 1935

The Scriptural Doctrine Of The Atonement With Special Reference To The False Theories Of Atonement, Arnold V. Kuster

Bachelor of Divinity

It is a well known fact that the Lutheran, that is, the scriptural, doctrine of the atonement is being denied and even ridiculed throughout the theological world. Substitute theories have been set up, about whose banners theologians have rallied and continue to rally. Such is the situation which calls forth this study of the scriptural doctrine of the atonement, with special reference to the false theories of atonement.

A History Of The Indian Missions Of The Presbyterian Church In Kansas., David Harold Mccleave May 1935

A History Of The Indian Missions Of The Presbyterian Church In Kansas., David Harold Mccleave

Master's Theses

The beginnings of the missionary activity of the Presbyterian Church date back to the colonial days of the eighteenth century. In point of American historical chronology, the missionary work of the Presbyterians among the Indians in what is now Kansas, southwestern Missouri and east central Oklahoma was inaugurated in the same decade that witnessed the War of 1812. It was my original intention to confine, this research to a consideration of the Indian missions established by the Presbyterian Church in that part of the Indian Territory which has now become the State of Kansas. There were five such mission stations …

The Kingdom Of Heaven Or The Kingdom Of God In The New Testament, William F. Doeling Apr 1935

The Kingdom Of Heaven Or The Kingdom Of God In The New Testament, William F. Doeling

Bachelor of Divinity

Today with ever greater insistence is urged the question, “What is the Kingdom of God?" The question is evidently prompted by a dissatisfaction with former definitions. A new definition is wanted, a new interpretation of the Kingdom and the Gospel of the Kingdom is sought. It is not enough to answer that God is unchangeable, His purposes and Kingdom likewise. No, the question must be answered again.

The Deity Of Christ According To The Epistle To The Hebrews, Thomas Coates Apr 1935

The Deity Of Christ According To The Epistle To The Hebrews, Thomas Coates

Bachelor of Divinity

The title and the contents of the Epistle prove that the addressees were Jewish Christians, and the emphasis placed on the temple worship points to the fact that they residents of Palestine, especially of Jerusalem. The letter constitutes a warning to the Jewish Christians to remain steadfast in their adherence to Christ, amid all the vicissitudes of life. They should not relapse into their former mode of worship, naturally meaningful and dear to them as it was, for Christ is the fulfilment of the Old Testament symbolism, and the new covenant is superior to the old. The Epistle was probably …
