Theses and Graduate Projects

This case study will explore the leadership of Mary Robinson and demonstrate that she exemplifies transformational leadership as developed by Bemard Bass using his leadership factors of charisma, inspirational leadership, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. Industrial Change, Immigration, And Community Development: An Overview Of Europeans And Latinos, Ramón F. Borges-Méndez

New England Journal of Public Policy

The industrial forces and conditions of Massachusetts that awaited and attracted European immigrants were vastly different from those encountered by the more recent wave of Latino immigrants. This study seeks to compare and clarify what those forces and conditions were at three different times, especially in the small mill towns of Lowell, Lawrence, and Holyoke. The objective is to delineate a historical backdrop to allow an understanding of the present situation of Latinos in those cities and, to some extent, within the commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Archives And The Child: Educational Services In Great Britain And Ireland, Ron Chepesiuk Jan 1983

Archives And The Child: Educational Services In Great Britain And Ireland, Ron Chepesiuk

Provenance, Journal of the Society of Georgia Archivists

One of the most significant features of post-World War II archival development has been the tremendous increase in the number and variety of researchers. Archives users are no longer an elite clientele, the scholar involved with traditional areas of historical research--political, economic, and military history. Within the discipline of history itself, there are now a wide variety of researchers, working in many different areas, who avail themselves of the resources of archival institutions. Other scholars, including sociologists, economists, geographers and even scientists, are now using archival sources to support their research projects.

American Career Of James Connolly, Kara P. Brewer Jan 1972

American Career Of James Connolly, Kara P. Brewer

University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations

So badly wounded that he had to be propped up in a chair to face the firing squad, James Connolly was executed by the British on May 10, 1916 in Dublin's infamous Kilmainham Jail. This event in itself was sufficient to guarantee him a significant place in Irish history but Connolly had achieved prominence in other activities as well. Besides being a revolutionary nationalist he had been a Marxist and a labor leader, had founded the Irish Socialist Republican Party and had played …
