The ability of homing pigeons to return to their loft from unknown places has fascinated scientists for centuries. It is well established that homing pigeons, like migratory birds, posses an innate magnetic inclination compass to determine direction by measuring the angle between the magnetic field vector and the Earth's surface. Recent work has indicated that the avian magnetic compass is light mediated and appears to mediate magnetic information to the brain. This occurs via a visual pathway with processing in the visual Wulst area of the forebrain. There is, however, also evidence from other avian species that magnetic direction may …

The three chapters of biography cover Czeslaw growing up, his time in the Polish Air Force Academy, and his plane crash on September 4, 1939 as well as the immediate aftermath. With 1 in 88 children receiving a diagnosis of being on the autism spectrum, it is important to expand upon current research. This present research study surveyed caregivers regarding their perceptions and experiences of raising a child on the autism spectrum in a bilingual language environment. Information on how families are counseled regarding bilingualism and language development in ASD is limited. It is well known that humans have the capacity to prefer certain rewards over others. This idea has been studied in animals and is considered the relative reward processing theory. The repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was projected by politicians and military personnel alike to have a negative impact on unit cohesion. The findings of this study indicated that overall military cohesion was high, and that many military members found that the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” had no impact on task or social cohesion. For this project, the author conducted twelve music sessions with a 3-year old child diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder- Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS). The majority of the sessions were exploratory in nature, seeking to illuminate upon specific questions regarding attention span, client interaction, and speech development. Music sessions were video-recorded and analyzed using Scribe 4.0.6, which allows the user to code video into various segments, each corresponding to specific behaviors/events.
