It is estimated that 27% of adults over 45 years of age suffer from osteoarthritis of the hip secondary to articular cartilage damage over the lifespan. Joint pain diminishes life quality, limits range of motion and overall activity, and frequently impairs basic ambulation. These functional deficits worsen the progression of comorbidities that are often referred to as lifestylerelated chronic disease as physical activity subsequently declines. Unconventional resources have been known to hold vast quantities of hydrocarbons. However, exploiting the oil and gas they hold was previously challenging due to their low permeabilities. Recent advances in horizontal well drilling and hydraulic fracturing have enabled oil and gas production from these reservoirs, leading to significant increases in energy supply to meet the growing energy demand. However, despite the relative technological success, considerable obstacles persist; oil production from unconventional wells often declines by more than 20% of their initial production rate within the first two years, leaving significant volumes of residual oil trapped in the formations. Colorectal cancer is a very treatable cancer when detected early, therefore patient adherence and colorectal cancer screening is key to decrease mortality. The purpose of this research and systematic literature review was to determine how the accuracy of blood-based and stool-based biomarkers compared in the detection of colorectal cancer and how noninvasive testing modalities influence patient participation in colorectal cancer screening. Only articles published within the past 10 years were included. Migraine headache is a common, universal neurological disorder that can be complicated to treat. Despite the wide availability of treatments used as prophylactic agents against migraines, outcomes have been inconsistent, and a number of patients do not respond to prophylactic medications. Therefore, it is important to investigate new non-pharmacological modalities accompanied with less adverse effects and maximal efficacy. Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) is a relatively rare pathology characterized by pain, tightness, and/or numbness in the affected calf upon performance of repetitive physical activity, most commonly with running or serving in the military. CECS usually has a delay in diagnosis due to low levels of awareness among clinicians and a wide range of differential diagnoses for chronic exertional leg pain. This literature review is an examination of the use of low-dose aspirin therapy versus the use of pravastatin therapy to prevent preterm delivery in women at risk of developing preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is defined as new onset hypertension after 20 weeks of gestation with evidence of maternal organ or uteroplacental dysfunction or proteinuria. A comprehensive search of the existing literature was conducted and includes studies from PubMed, an electronic search databases. The purpose of this literature review is to compare the use of manual versus mechanical chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the treatment of adult cardiac arrest patients. A literature review was performed using the databases CINAHL, Embase, and PubMed. Studies chosen were peer reviewed randomized controlled trials, respective reviews, a cross-over controlled trial, and an experimental trial. During the menopause transition (MT), also known as perimenopause, women are at a significantly increased risk of depression. Although the pathophysiology is not fully understood, it is likely to be complex and multifactorial. The purpose of this research and systematic literature review is to determine if altering the circadian rhythm in people with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) improves their symptoms. Up to 75% of people with childhood-onset ADHD exhibit a delayed circadian rhythm phase. The primary aim of this systematic literature review is to determine the safety and efficacy of left gastric artery embolization (LGAE) in comparison to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) for bariatric patients. A total of four prospective studies focusing on left gastric artery embolization were selected and reviewed. A total of five studies were selected that discussed Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
