In North American cities, the land use and transportation systems are associated with low-density, suburban-type urban development, where the built environment contributes to a mobility pattern that is extremely reliant on automobiles. Several studies in the past decades have documented noticeable and concerning patterns of unjust and unsustainable transportation in this context. As a result, for those population groups with limited access to private transportation, this form of urban structure is equivalent to limited access to opportunities, leading to various environmental and social problems. This paper provides a critical conceptualization of the relationship between artificial intelligence and financial labour markets in the United States. In doing so, we ask first, what are the characteristics of ‘actually existing AI’ in the financial sector? Second, what are the various ways in which the relationship between AI and its effects on financial labour or employment over approximately the last decade are approached theoretically, conceptually, or methodologically? Third, what are the (spatial) consequences of AI for financial labour markets in the United States? In 1976 the Argentine government was taken over by a right wing military junta, attempting to “save” their country from communism. Military officials kidnapped, tortured and killed between 10,000 and 30,000 Argentine citizens, who were thought of as “guerrillas” supporting the leftist government and the late president Juan Perón. These victims are regarded as the disappeared, or Los Desaparecidos; due to the fact their families had no knowledge of where their loved ones were taken, or what was happening to them. Museum biological collections store species data that can be utilized in research on biodiversity, environmental change, invasive species, public health, and disease. The University of Arkansas Arthropod Museum, which began in 1905, houses over 750,000 specimens and has not yet been digitized. Making data publicly accessible via the internet makes the data available to the entire scientific community. The goal of this project was to create a digital resource to allow greater access to the University of Arkansas Arthropod Museum holdings. The influences of dissolved organic matter (DOM) on neonicotinoid photochemical degradation and product formation in natural waters remain unclear, potentially impacting the sustainability of river systems. Therefore, our overall objective was to investigate the photodegradation mechanisms and phototransformation byproducts of two neonicotinoid pesticides, imidacloprid and thiamethoxam, under simulated sunlight at the microcosm scale, to assess the implications of DOM for insecticide degradation in rivers. Direct and indirect photolysis were investigated using twelve water matrices to identify possible reaction pathways with two DOM sources and three quenching agents. Level III ecoregions of the conterminous United States provide a framework for facilitating environmental understanding and aiding environmental management practices. In southern Minnesota near Mankato, there are two level III ecoregions: to the east is North Central Hardwood Forest (NCHF) and to the west are Western Corn Belt Plains (WCBP). They contained a combined 104 fish species in local lakes. However, little is known about how land use and land cover affect fish assemblages in these lakes, which are indicator fish species, and if any invasive fish species are adversely impacting native fish populations. When evaluating the impact of immigration, extant economic literature has overwhelmingly focused on natives and men. The widely accepted methodology in the literature usually segments by education and by experience. Segmenting by education has been found to not be viable for immigrants due to immigrant downgrading, and experience is not conducive for women since it is calculated based on age. Through both an empirical analysis and an ethnography, this study takes the initial steps to include existent immigrants and women in the discussion. Flooding is a prevalent threat to community wellbeing, particularly in West Virginia where the mountainous topography and narrow valleys create perfect conditions for flood water to accumulate. To more deeply understand how hazards, such as flood events, become disastrous, we must consider not only the environmental/physical aspects, but also political, economic, and social dimensions. Prairie potholes are depressional wetland features found throughout the northern Great Plains region of the United States and Canada. These wetlands have high potential to store large quantities of carbon, but many have been altered for conventional agricultural practices. Recently, conservation practices (e.g., no-till and cover crops) and federal conservation programs (e.g., Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)) are contributing to these landscapes returning to their more natural state. The St. Croix River valley (SCRV) is the product of dyssynchronous glacial advance and retreat of several glacial lobes during regional deglaciation of the Late Pleistocene-Early Holocene transition. Additionally, the SCRV has been dramatically shaped by multiple proglacial lake drainage episodes. Therefore, the SCRV is an important case study to understanding the impacts of proglacial lake spillover processes. However, the magnitude, frequency, timing, duration, and geomorphic impacts of these floods remain enigmatic. Water quality varies along the stream network; thus, considering the directional, dendritic nature of stream networks with surrounding landscape variables is essential in explaining spatial variations of water quality. Using a spatially extensive stream temperature monitoring effort in the Clackamas River Basin in the United States, we first compare spatial scales of analysis of atmospheric, landscape, and in-stream explanatory variables through their correlation with summer stream temperatures. We then derive a predictive stream temperature model with factors representing the spatial variation of local climate, recent wildfire effects, and discharge. During the late 18th through the mid-19th centuries, the Commonwealth of Kentucky saw significant movement of self-emancipated people seeking freedom from bondage. Often referred to as “runaways” or “fugitive slaves,” in historical texts, self-emancipated people defined freedom in many ways. These migrations were widely documented in newspaper advertisements known as fugitive slave advertisements and runaway ads in local newspapers published throughout the state. Access to these materials (often buried in databases or on microform) has been problematic at best. This senior thesis explores the ways in which people in Oakland, California make place and spaces through their activism and subsequently how these places and spaces are policed by the state. Building off of the works of Ruth Wilson Gilmore, Robin D.G. Kelley, David Harvey, and Henri Lefebvre, McClain examines the ways in which activists create abolition geographies while engaging in their right to the city through social movement activism with a particular focus on the Black Panther Party and Occupy Wall Street Movement in Oakland. โรงเรียนเป็นพื้นที่ทดลองทางสังคมที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการเตรียมความพร้อมนักเรียนสู่โลกภายนอก ผู้ปกครองจึงเลือกโรงเรียนที่ดีที่สุดภายใต้เงื่อนไขปัจจัยทางเศรษฐกิจ สังคม และปัจจัยทางภูมิศาสตร์ ในสังคมกรุงเทพมหานครที่ซับซ้อน ความหลากหลายของโรงเรียนส่งผลให้โรงเรียนมีความสามารถดึงดูดนักเรียนแตกต่างกัน ประกอบกับประชากรวัยเรียนที่ลดลง โรงเรียนต้องปรับตัวเพื่อดึงดูดให้ผู้ปกครองเลือกโรงเรียนนั้น ๆ ซึ่งการตัดสินใจของผู้ปกครองยังส่งผลต่อชีวิตประจำวันของนักเรียนที่ต้องใช้ชีวิตและเติบโตในนิเวศของโรงเรียนที่ผู้ปกครองได้เลือกสรรไว้ให้ งานวิจัยฉบับนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อ 1 ) ศึกษาเขตบริการของโรงเรียนรัฐบาลในพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานครชั้นในซึ่งเกิดจากแบบรูปการกระจายของนักเรียน 2 ) ศึกษาปัจจัยและวิธีการเลือกโรงเรียนของผู้ปกครอง 3 ) ศึกษาผลกระทบจากการเลือกโรงเรียนที่ส่งผลต่อโรงเรียนและนักเรียน โดยใช้เครื่องมือวิจัยคือกระบวนการสารสนเทศทางภูมิศาสตร์ แบบสอบถาม การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และการอภิปรายกลุ่ม ผลการศึกษา พบว่า เขตบริการของโรงเรียนไม่สอดคล้องกับเขตพื้นที่บริการของโรงเรียน แต่ละโรงเรียนมีขนาดเขตบริการที่ต่างกันอย่างมาก ซึ่งสัมพันธ์กับลักษณะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมที่แตกต่างกันของแต่ละครอบครัว ส่งผลให้ผู้ปกครองมีวิธีการตัดสินใจ ให้ความสำคัญแก่ปัจจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องในระดับต่างกัน โดยเฉพาะจากข้อจำกัดทางด้านเศรษฐกิจและสังคมที่ส่งผลต่อตัวเลือกโรงเรียนที่ผู้ปกครองสามารถเลือก ปรากฏการณ์การเลือกโรงเรียนที่เกิดขึ้น สะท้อนผลกระทบจากการเลือกโรงเรียนของผู้ปกครองที่มีต่อโรงเรียน การบริหารจัดการโรงเรียน และนักเรียน โดยตัวแปรที่มีบทบาทสำคัญที่ก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบเหล่านี้ คือ จำนวนนักเรียน และลักษณะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคมของนักเรียน นอกจากนี้งานวิจัยนี้ยังพบว่าความสัมพันธ์ของปัจจัยการเลือกโรงเรียนของผู้ปกครอง โรงเรียน และนักเรียนนั้นยังเชื่อมโยงกับพื้นที่ละแวกโรงเรียนและพื้นที่เปลี่ยนผ่านระหว่างบ้านและโรงเรียนที่นักเรียนมีปฏิสัมพันธ์ร่วมด้วย

Following the Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals (1993) ruling three decades ago, guidelines were established for determining the reliability and validity of expert testimony in court. These guidelines include considerations of whether the theory and methodologies employed have been tested, the establishment of potential or known error rates, and the existence and maintenance of the standards (Christensen, 2004). Testifying in court as an expert witness has become a critical role as a forensic anthropologist. Since the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2014 and 2018 legalized Industrial Hemp (Cannabis Sativa. L), interest in grain, fiber, and floral hemp production has seen growing pains. As an emerging crop, there is a research gap in the impact of weather and agronomic conditions on hemp production including THC (Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol) and pollen drift as risks in hemp cultivation. The first essay aims to measure the impact of weather and agronomic factors on hemp grain, fiber, and floral yields in Kentucky using a yield-weather model with information on field locations.
